Im just starting to plan for my powerwagon project and I'm looking for some info from people that played with them.
Its a 62, 318, 4speed, 3/4 ton shortbed. Gonna be used as a truck. 35's max tire size.
Im interested in a possible axle swap to something newer for disc fronts and possibly...
Thuren Fab just came out with a new front bumper for the 2nd gen Ram. I think it's one of the better bumpers out right now. It also tucks the winch up high and back out of the way. Although It's not cheap, it's at a discounted price right now.
1994-2002 Thuren Fabrication Modular Front Bumper
i have to replace the wheel cylinder and to do that the drum has to come off soo the hub has to go. i’ve never done this and i’m winding what special tools i need and what to expect. also should a replace the dif oil at the same time?
I had the "service DEF system see dealer" message show up yesterday. I took the batt cables off and shorted them to reset the computer, and that seemed to do the trick, lights off now, but I figure I need to get something to read and clear codes now that is out of warranty. 2016 3500.
I have...
Like the title says, are the early dakota quadcab trucks (2000-2006 I think) any good or are they basically garbage? I kinda like the styling and it seems to be the right size, v8 auto that I'm looking for, but pretty sure these weren't Dodges best years. I keep trying to find something that...
My tow rig 48re (4x4) is getting tired.
Specs: 2004.5 HO Cummins, 240k SB
I’ve kept it stock for the 220k miles I’ve owned it. (Trans is known weak link).
I tow 8k, 8-12 times a year to Fordyce, Hammers etc.
After my new trans, I want to add cold air, cat back, maybe a mild chip...
I had been planning to pull the bed then blast and paint the rear half of the frame on my 2008 Ram 3500 this spring. I thought everything was solid except for some surface crust. Wrong. I found some spots that are rusted through; mostly around the body/bed mounts. Ugh. Not a fan of frame...
Got a 1st gen cummins dually 2wd with the getrag stick... I really like this truck but gotta thin out the herd.. the speedo gears were chewed up in it so I ordered new ones. Driven and drive. 35t ... first issue is there are 2 cast indicators for the clocking of the housing. 180 degrees from...
booyah - Bud...is 'back' :grinpimp:
What's 'Bud'? - it's a 1974 Dodge M-950 Diesel Power Wagon crew cab convertible, with an early 5.9 Cummins, 47RH 2wd trans, divorced Ford 203/205 ORD doubler, on rockwells and 46's, at a 144" wheelbase. It's a big silly toy I planned/built 10 years ago...
Posting here for my step father who is getting up in the years. He has pulled his trans 3 times chasing down issues after rebuilding it himself. Trying to diagnose it from several hundred miles away through email isn't easy. He was able to pull the codes and came up with this list. It sounds...
I've had this truck for almost 12 years and it's at about 150k miles. It has a 3" BDS lift, 2009+ pitman arm, draglink and tierod, and a yukon no spin kit in front. It's otherwise stock. For the last 30k it's had a 2200lb camper in the back and it's our getaway vehicle, so I plan to keep it a...
I've always loved this body style. Buddy of mine had one needing a salvage title, cheap.
I ended up grabbing it and doing a basic restoration on it. It's not a heavy hauler, so no need for a Cummins.
Funny thing, I ended up doing most of the body panels, the front and rear axles, transfer case...
So I picked up a buddies 1954 Power Wagon that had been sitting in his garage for 7-10 years taking up space. Its in pieces, which doesn't bother me at all, as I knew what I was looking at. The frame and body is rust free for Maine, some surface rust. When it was taken apart it ran, it just...
So i have my 01 2500 4x4 with 60 front and 70 rear 3.54s. Here is the question, my buddy has a very low mileage set of 96 axles, 60 front and 80 rear geared to 4.10s. They are complete take outs including the abs wiring. So can I swap these out? Looking quickly, it looks like the rear sensor in...
This will be a "install/mod" thread of sorts that may never have anyone else look into it cuz 'buy new plow and be done' mentality.
So in previous dumb decisions buying new trucks, I bought trucks that didn't have plow prep. While I don't do any commercial plowing, I still didn't want to risk...
Wtf :mad3:
Replaced the power steering pump 450 miles ago. Seemed to work good.
Went out to move the truck and found that all of the fluid leaked out from where the pump was pressed into the reservoir. Warranty replacement from Napa was identical reman bullshit.
Installed it, bled it...
Going on 6 years with this truck, been modified with a lot. It has an SR axle to get that locker and disc brakes. Front diff has been welded and running Superwinch hubs. Still runs a stock 6G72 and the beefy 5spd. Running 37's on 16.5 rims, works great here in the flat lands of Florida. Gen 2...
