What makes a pistol do this?

don't worry we're just not cool enough to know what the big deal is

Here's a recap of what we know:

s&w plastic semi pistols are garbage and barely better than a Hi-Point

You can be a pro shooter and trainer for 21 years and still give yourself a hernia telling people how smart you are on the internet.

Every rifle I own has a ruined barrel.

@Rocdoc is so inept, he doesn't have the good sense to upgrade to a badger 2013 from a 2008. No wonder he only cleans every 250 rounds.

Im not worried. Come saturday that 9mm will be detail cleaned with brake clean, maybe a lil kroil afterwards. Lucas red n tacky on the rails.

S&W PC cleaning kit every 5 rounds for proper precision barrel break in

And I bet i still cant hit shit at 500yrds with it. Although I will try, cuz that shit is fun

And fwiw most problems i have had with a pistol was a S&W m69. Badass gun now, but man I had trouble keeping screws in the thing

I know a guy with some experience chambering precision rifle barrels…

If I go to a new action, it's probably not going to be Badger.

Didn't you read what dickweed said about Weatherby actions? Don't know why you would want to use one of those inferior purpose built prs actions when Roy Weatherby has already given you perfection.

link?

There isn't one because he just wanted to pile on with the cool kids. Dickweed said he liked Roy Weatherby's calibers and never said shit about a Weatherby action.
I do own several and they do have sweet actions though so continue on A-Aron.

Badger 2008 bolt action, chambered in 6GT (hence the Gay Tiger comments). PRS matches.
Don't get triggered, get it? Triggered?

These targets were shot at 200yds off a Sinclair front rest and bag rear.

You'd be more accurate if you'd put some a sighting device on that rifle. :homer:

It's been changed up quite a bit over the past few years. It originally had a Vortex PST Gen 1 5-25x, then a Razor HD Gen II 4.5-27x, and now it's got a Leupold HD5 7-35x, an arca rail, and (usually), an Atlas bipod, along with a Cortina tuner brake after being re-barreled in 6GT.

How did you like the vortex? Seems like decent enough stuff at reasonable prices.

I have a Harris bipod and a vortex 4-14x40 for my AR-10 but I can't pick it up till next Tuesday to shoot it thanks to WA state. I'm not planning on a tack driver by any means but I'm hoping to hit a cantaloupe at 500 yards reliably.

That shouldnt be an issue. I was hitting rocks that size at 650 with a PSA 6.5 grendel upper, a swfa 3-9 and american gunner ammo.

I run the tall tracking and box tests on all my precision optics, and all three of the Vortex scopes (PST, PST II and Razor HD2) have all passed with flying colors. I don't know about for serious BR work, but they work for the MOA targets I'm shooting at and are way, way better than minute of deer. Their warranty is awesome, but all that being said the Leopold MK5 HD is just that much better, and looking through it side by side with a NF ATACR, it actually seemed a little brighter than the NF, I wouldn't have believed it but dude with the NF said it looked better to him, so I checked as well and yeah the difference is small, but noticeable.

Are you hand loading ammo? If not, you should try as many quality makes of ammo to find what your gun likes...not exactly the best time to do that, but the results will tell the truth.

Right on, I'm no sharp shooter but I'm going to try and home my skills to be at least decent.

Sweet! I wasn't sure if it was going to be a decent buy or not. I didn't see anything overly bad about the online so we'll see how it goes.

For the price difference I'd hope a Leupold would be better. You're paying for it to be upper echelon.

Nope, I grew up hand loading for my grandpa's but I was too young to get the equipment from either of them when they passed.

I was just talking to my brother tonight about buying some quality stuff to get it dialed in at distance and leave the 1k rounds of wolf I grabbed for plinking at shorter distances.

Yeah you should totally get into hand loading, think of all the money you'll save. I'm sure I've got $12k in gear, but ive got it and can shoot as much as I have time for. And I dig the precision aspect big time

In all reality I have a brother with all the stuff to do it so it wouldn't cost me more than powder, primers, bullets and time.

I’ve seen a guy hit a silhouette target at 770 yards with a red dot. You should be fine.

Let me recap for Texas backyard shooter:

Shooting any rifle 600 times between cleaning is...just fucking stupid and makes accurate shots impossible. Find me one person in the military or civilian world to back you up on that..and please make it a distance rifle. Once again, yer an idiot so stay out of the conversation until you can see your riflings again.

300 Sniper or whatever your name is: I know a guy that sucks cock but.....That don't make me an expert at anything.

Roc Doc: Sorry but for 12K in a weapons platform, those groups aren't impressive at 200 yards. Spend your money how you want to. I ain't hating.
Aisin knows a guy hitting bullseyes at 770 with a motherfucking red dot.(gotta question how he even see's the target at that range through a fucking red dot but hey, it ain't my story), you need to pick up your game.

To the whiny OP: I just tried to tell you to oil your shitty assed gun and break it in. Looks like you did that on your own in between complaining about me.

And to whoever said they slobber their gun down with red tack....excellent idea. That won't pick up any dirt, burnt powder, lead, copper or your boogers at all.

I will let you experts trip over your own dicks anytime you want. I know a guy.........

Here is another recap: You can shoot 600 rounds out of your gun without cleaning and become an expert and pontificate how anyone who cleans before 600 rounds is a complete idiot. It is ok to suck a guys dick for posting pics of shitty groups at 200 yards out of a 12K setup. Aison knows a guy...that can not only see a target at 770yds, not 700yds, not 800yds, but 770 yds and hit it with a red dot. Must be an apartment building or barn but he knows a guy.

The guy that knows a guy...hasn't posted up shit about his business, custom work that he sells, track record or jack shit. But hey, he knows a guy.

Meanwhile, I know a guy... actually a bunch of guys, that routinely send more rounds down range in a year than anyone in this thread will send in a life time, aside from Texas backyard shooter because he can afford all those rounds and never clean his shit. I also know some guys whose rifles must work, the first time and all the time to stay alive and keep others alive but we are all apparently complete morons compared to the guy that knows a guy......and the guy that spends 12k on a gun to shoot 200yds that I am pretty sure I could beat with a .22 with a 4x scope. Sorry pard but 200 yds ain't shit. Maybe I will make a video of my .22 or straight off the shelf at Dicks 17 HMR tightening up your groups at 200 yds. Pretty sure the 17 only has a sub 200 dollar 3x9. lol. Even so, I have never claimed to be an expert at anything aside from being a humble servant collecting your tax payer dollars.

I don't post guns, safe pictures or list my firearms because I know a guy....and he is a motherfucker. So......suck it. lol
