What makes a pistol do this?

Far from looking to get involved in the shit show but I'd suspect doing 5 30 round mag dumps as fast as possible through my AR-10 will leave it as accurate long term as firing a handful of rounds and letting it cool to season it in slowly. 🤷
Do you feel once you “season it in slowly”, then 5 30 round mag dumps as fast as possible won’t have an affect?

See

The one above that where I send him you're way. But yes I posted to the wrong thing. Ohh well different thread same asshole
Everyone ignore this guy, he can't even use the quote function properly in an attempt to throw an insult. Idiot.

Of course not. My thoughts could very well be wrong but when it comes to things like this I lean towards not putting excessive heat into the barrel and keeping it clean.

My 5 mag dumps example was more of a joke than anything.

You think barrel break-in is a fucking joke?

A myth mostly, but certainly not a joke!!!

:flipoff2::laughing:

Stuck a Leupold delta point red dot on that junker gun. Was shooting shotgun shells at 30 yards with it. Pretty happy with that.

Cleaning barrels is a joke. Texas bukkake is an expert so everyone stop cleaning barrels.

Op had issues with a brand new gun and Texas Bukkake told him to throw it away. I told him to oil it and shoot it and Bukkake and his fan boi club lost their minds.:homer::homer::homer::homer:

Round count is somewhere north of 500. It started working, so I didn't see any need to tear it down or anything

For fucks sake, don't ever clean it or it will fall apart and lose all accuracy. Ask Texas Bukkake, he will tell you...

I disagree that a new non competition style pistol should need to be “broken in”.

Also just realized if the slide is dragging on something during recoil, it could cause both problems.

Doesn't the slide drag on the frame or frame rail and that friction surface smooths over time and rounds fired ? Especially for a price point mass produced semi auto ? I ask as my new FMK was jamming 2 for 20 rounds until I went into my third 50-rd box. Cleaned and oiled of course. I note you said competition style pistol. Does the OP weapon fit that description ?

I dont think I would call it a competition gun. Its the Performance Center model. So I guess it might be a lil higher grade than the standard plastic version. I dunno. I just wanted a M&P that was cut for an optic. Sold a M&P compact and got this one. Course I got carried away and had to buy the fancy 5" ported one. lol oh well
