War Pig Version 12

Do you want a pretty truck or a work truck that you don't mind if it gets another ding?

OR you can just go over the scars with the pretty paint. Kind of an in between. Looks pretty from 5' but dings are not the end of the world.

similarly - is it an "ad" for your work, or just a work truck? if it pulls in more business, may be worth it to make it a little prettier?

doesn't seem like you're slow by your posts, but its another thought from some random guy

It can be both, I guess.

I do about 20 projects a year.

I vote make it nice. You have the skills to make it nice, so just do it. People that just flat black things either dont have the skills or money or time to make things nice so they just make due.

We started TIG welding the stress cracks, they grind well and the metal is hella thick. Hammer and dolly working the dents out is easy.

So, clean body, it is. We're going to make outer armor for it. So the entire bottom end will have 3" tall of 3/16" thick edging that if the truck is other than black, will be black. Also started modeling up sliders for the entire truck.

Thinking Hugger Orange, with all black, or a secret color that be a 60's custom throwback with chrome or all matte black with chrome. Waiting for the renderings to decide.

Also doing things like where the weird gas tank fills in the front fenders will become side markers, with our logo over the top of them.

shot you a PM too. may have found your valence, with a truck attached, in CT

edit: he shot me a pic of the valence. it's rough. but it's better than nothing, maybe.

Thanks, had someone contact him about getting it, it's gone off to the boneyard.

I have one coming.

Working on the design while we wait for frame plates to come back. Also looking at rims, since they're freaking expensive.

Leaning towards black with chrome/silver, including stacks and a rocker bed guard of 2x4" tube with a step for each door.

Ass end won't be squatted as badly as the rendering.

Oh, have the steering box, new column and sector shaft it. Ordered the Continentals, looking around for new rims, that are concave with a little bit of lip... trying to avoid the brodozer look.

You should to a two tone with that color and tan.
Nope. Not a fan of that. Metallic and none doesn't mix well. Plus body lines aren't conducive to it.

Pretty close to finale. Interior will be black leather and plush. I will cast bronze badges for it.

Not sure how the brown with black interior would look without ever seeing one. Root beer and brown king ranch interior maybe?

EDIT to ask- Did you have those renders done professionally or is it a program your using? Or I guess 3rd option do you do those professionally?

King Ranch is ridiculously expensive.

The outside will have all black trim, it will be excellent together.

We have a talent in the business that does them... and about half the cars that go to SEMA.

dibs when you sell it :flipoff2:

partial to the gray over the root beer, but both will be :smokin:
Thing is, I like the gray too, I just think it's too common these days. I've had a root beer colored project in my head for 10+ years.

So, have all the sheet metal I need. Finishing up fab this week and will start getting everything down to bare metal and back up.

I like the grey. Just my opinion which isnt worth a fuck, but the root beer, much like the burnt orange (think copperhead from "Trucks") or whatever was popular has been overdone. Renderings aside, maybe do some sprayouts of the colors you like before committing.

Thanks. I've wanted to do Root Beer for more than 10 + years and this is the perfect throwback truck to do it on, light bar and all. I already did a few spray outs. Root Beer it is. You will see so many fucking gray trucks in the next year you will want to vomit. Dodge Ram TRX Launch edition.

We did a grey SWB J10 with M715 stuff 3 years ago. Can't do another one.

The last 4 vehicles I've owned have been silver/ gray/dark gray.

I like the rootbeer

Got the Barnes spring towers and 1995 Ford F350 shock towers installed yesterday.

So, I took a 2.5" square hitch from another build. Anyone see issues with completely welding around the tubes?

I see that some are and some aren't.
