Looked at the fuel rail pressure or supply or air in the fuel or...

Fuel go in moter gud?
Air in fuel has been a possibility for a couple reasons. Still haven't had time to tear down the lines.

It's starting up amd running fine with the warmer temps. Prior to that, it would start up, run for almost a minute, and stutter until it died. A dozen or so cranks later and it would fire up again and stay running. I've wondered if there's been some fine bubbles in the fuel that collect into one big bubble once it sits for a while.

cold fuel more vacuum on the suction line more air intrusion
cold seals and hoses, same

Yup.

The other problem, (what got me thinking air in fuel) is when I was flat towing my Ford last week, almost every long, uphill grade at full throttle would cause it to start to buck real hard. I'd pull over, let it idle for a minute, then be on my merry way. Hard suction and air leaks, I'd say.

Needed to be replaced anyway.

Got four loads of rock spread on the driveway. Went to turn around to go get the fifth load and the wheel got stiff.

Your song :laughing::laughing:
Really can't complain. Accomplished enough today to make me happy. Those hose is pretty dang minor. Only took about ten minutes to pull it. I'm going to check out Hyspeco tomorrow. Looks like they will make a hose. O'Reilly's makes hoses, but I don't feel like letting them do it.

That's not a regular hose with worm drive clamp? Looks like the one going to tank.

I think it’s time to put the truck up for sale and cut your losses . This thing has cost you far , far more money than it could have possibly saved you . Just my honest opinion .

But..........at this point he already has sunk the $ into it. Therefore keep it because its sweet?

Sure, but it allows us to do it all at our own pace. Most places have been booked out because they're all short on drivers.
Being able to do shit when you want how you want probably saves you more time and money in the long run than paying someone.

In certain situations I Will agree with you. Hauling large amounts of gravel it’s almost certainly cheaper to get it brought in on big trucks.

larboc deal where the pit is a mile down the road and he can load himself at anytime yes this works.

Over ten miles away with a pit only open m-f call the big trucks. I do the math every day of my life. There’s no way he can make 3 trips vs the one for less than the $100-$110 a hr we charge to drop it off.

What's the upcharge if a ten-wheeler sinks to the axles and needs to be recovered?

Exactly why we're most comfortable with going this route. Not necessarily to save money at all, though.

I haven't penciled it out, but this is most certainly correct. Timing and terrain have been the bigger concern due to weather and our scheduling.

That would be a motherfucker. That and I'm able to turn my single axle truck around in our clearing whereas a tandem would not.

Also, you get that DIY satisfaction. There's plenty I should probably farm out but we do ourselves just so we can set the project pace and know our land better.

That being said, we've tired of hauling gravel a yard at a time in our trailer and will get a bobtail dump truck load delivered next go-round

Hauled in a 8.76 ton load of 3/4 clean today and changed the oil. Wife rode along with the boys and I.

Gotta agree strongly with the DIY satisfaction. Both the wife and I do almost everything DIY. Gain the know-how and the experience. We're passing it on to the boys as well and that is something I'm very grateful for.
