Oh god. Please go over that again with more nickel rod. That’s a shitty weld. :lmao:

If the work clamp is set to negative, that's reversed.
work def. goes to my ground clamp. how do I change it? Should I change it?
Clean 1/8" steel, butt welds this morning. no filler @ the bottom, filler at the top.

Work

gas flow maybe go up, maybe go down, maybe gas lens, maybe less wind
arc length short enough that you're getting steel on your tungsten fairly regular?

What shielding gas, what flow?
I'm ignoring your suggestions henceforth. :flipoff2:

75/25 argon co2, have been playing with it between 5 and 10 LPM.
I have a pure argon bottle. should I swap to that? I was told just to use that for aluminum.

EDIT: I misspoke earlier yesterday when I said it was pure argon.

no wind. In a closed shop.
yes my tungsten looks like shit every 3" or so and I have to resharpen, even making damn good sure I'm not dipping it.

Maybe take a video? Something is clearly not right with what you are doing. I see you still have it at 100amps, did you try turning it down? I have never melted the tungsten without touching it to the work??

He's trying to weld with 75/25. I remember way back when I bought my first dc tig and was so excited to try it but all I had was 75/25. I couldn't even hold an arc. He'll be a pro once the right bottle is on there

I recently exchanged an Argon bottle. Got home with the new "argon" bottle and my welds looked like Sceeps (only worse because it was AL). Fuckers filled the bottle with 75/25.
