What did you do to your yota today?

A bit of a real time help here please.

2000 taco 3.4

Hood has rubbed the top of the radiator cracking it. I'm down in town and have a new radiator, coolant, hoses and tools.

I can change it easy, but wanna make it up the mountain first.

Can I adjust the hood or radiator so they don't rub.

I don’t see any rub marks in the hood. That’s weird AF

blakes

do you have the hood bumpers? I had to turn mine almost all the way out to just before they want to fall out

Bingo!

Well the truck was rolled years ago and there is a bit of misalignment. I adjusted the bumpers all the way up and now the new radiator is no longer being rubbed by the hood.

Speaking of the new radiator... vatozone special. Didn't fit. By a hair.

The brackets that are bolted to the sides of the radiator were misaligned. I had to use the stock brackets and of course one of the captive nuts spun requiring me to have to fuck around. But I got it in.

Finally finished tearing apart my 2wd transmission and got the output swapped. Took about 3 hours to get everything back in with the 4wd output shaft.

I love that you're doing that in your kitchen. :smokin:
My wife is pretty damn cool. She saw me install the shift kit a few days ago and didn’t say anything. I told her last night about my plans. I told her that I would put cardboard down to catch any mess. Can’t even tell that I rebuilt a transmission today

lol my wife would fucking kill me. Like, I would actually die.

Got this cut off the frame yesterday. Started grinding the leftovers off of the frame and my Milwaukee grinder shit the bed. I definitely got my use out of it

Been focusing on beer and relaxing. I did manage to get a breather installed in the rear axle. Had to drill and tap a new hole. I need to focus on one thing at time. I am all over the place on this pile of shit. One more thing off the list.

why on the tube and not the center chunk? Just curious.

I put a 4" longer resonator on the reg cab today....How the f people are able to weld thing tubing under the truck is a mystery to me. booogery at best...

FJ80 breather is already on the long side of the tube in the middle. I just put it in a different spot

Outputs. 2wd on the left obviously
I went to mock up my transfer case and compare shafts awhile back and found that I forgot the clip on the inside end of the shaft during the last rebuild so it pulled right out. Slipped the 4wd shaft right in and am really contemplating running it like that. LOL

Cleaned up the trailer wiring socket on the 4Runner. It's been giving me fits of trailer lights or brake controller for a few months. Had to thrust it until got off and connected everything.

Dug some parts out this morning. 2nd/3rd gen 4x4 transfer case crossmember and early T100 transfer case mount. Decided to bolt the empty transmission and transfer case up. Killed a few birds with the same stone. Figured out rear pinion angle, rear driveshaft length and where exactly the crossmember lands on the frame. I am going to clean up the transfer case and crossmember. They are both nasty. I need to grind a bit off of the bottom of the frame rails where the 2wd crossmember sat so the 4x4 crossmember can sit flush on the bottom of the frame
