What's new

What did you do to your yota today?

Pulled the engine from our new '03 sequoia since it started making a crazy knocking noise and lost power. 334k on the truck, but we only had it for a month. Putting a used engine in this weekend and will rebuild the old one for some other project.

I loved my 255/85/16s when I was IFS. IMO perfect size tire for a non solid axle swapped 1st gen Tacoma. Plus wide tires on a Toyota truck are gaaaaaay

don't you have 12.5's on your tacoma now? Pretty wide. :flipoff2:

Had 33x10.5-15's on the last toyota and they were about perfect IMO. Thats a hard size to find these days:shaking:

They are the 255/85/16's. My buddy has em on his 2014 with a 3" lift and likes them.

I'm not sure how much actual wheeling it's gonna get in the next couple months due to the new house but I cannot wait for snow!

I'll report back and see if it helps my lack of driving capabilities :homer:

What was your specs at the time? 3" lift and some cutting or what? Got pics of it back then?

In the process of converting an A340E into an A340F. I tore down the A340F Monday to rob the output shaft. Not nearly as bad as I thought. Only needed a long flat nose screwdriver for all of the big snap rings in the case. I did need lock ring pliers for the very last locking ring to get the output shaft out of the case. Currently midway through disassembling the A340E. I have a Transgo 340-HD2 that I will be installing in the valve body.

I bet you dont need that much.

I could clear 32x11.5's with no lift. Now 33-12.5's rubbed on everything. But I bet a skinny tire wouldnt need much.

My wheels might have a lil more offset in them though..

OME 882s, so 2 maybe 3, whatever those came out to. I pounded the pinch weld and that was about it.

Slick, thanks gentlemen!

I ignored the frame rubbing as that will go down as the tires wear.

I think my truck was the most fun to wheel with that tire size, the rear Elocker and dual cases. So stable and such a sleeper rig!
my fj80 i feel is the same way, stable, and lockers make it a sleeper for sure. 33 tires for the win.

What are you doing about the speed sensor? That aluminum puck only has 2 triggers where the Toyotas I've seen have 4. There is a later gen AW4 shaft that has 4 but haven't verified it senses correctly.

I did the timing belt on my first gen taco a few weeks ago and don't have the tool to hold the crank pulley, so I just got it as tight as I could in 5th gear.

Checked it today.

Still tight :flipoff2:

Not sure where you got your info but you are incorrect. Both outputs have a single trigger in each one.

Oh you originally had the aluminum puck I follow now. I've had quite a few A340E's apart but none had one yet.

What gears did you have? I think I have 4.10s considering the 3rz, TRD.

You have the 3.4 auto right?
