Bomag wanted $15k for the wiring harness on a 35+ year old pad foot roller. I opted to pay a retired Cat service truck guy $6,500 to go through the entire machine, rewire it, replace 17 hoses, add a couple gauges, new seat, change all fluids, ect.
Then I sold it and broke even.

I drove past a Jeep, Dodge ,Ram dealership today and their lot was jam packed full of everything, I have not seen that many vehicles on their lot in 4 years.
So just did roughly the same configs in the US vs CA...in the US it's $54,485 USD before taxes and such, in CA it's $61,634 before taxes and such.
So I guess both are WTF expensive....even if these are fairly loaded TRD Off-Road models, that's a big chunk of change for a small truck. I looked at one back in 2016 before we bought our Lexus and the same sort of package was sub $50k CAD.

Neither have I, but I didn't know that they existed. Now that I do know that they exist, every other car on the road will probably be a hornet.
