What's new

Vehicle prices that make you say WTF?

Is there a stop on selling them due to the Cummins recall? Could be why they’re piling up

Not that I know of. 3500's would be piling up too.

It's my guess that most 3/4 ton buyers use their trucks to haul a set of golf clubs, so they buy Fords.

On the car hauler hotshot group, it's about 95% ram trucks.

Could also be the gas engine options. If you are doing 3/4 ton things, the ford 7.3 is, on paper, a better engine. Add in the aluminum body being more rust resistant, and it's hard not to go Ford.

i'm not sure the aluminum body is that much of a selling point? Not sure I'd be on board with it being specific reason to buy a new truck.

Maybe not new truck buyers because they tend to dump them before long. But if I'm shopping a 7-8 year old used truck it's a huge selling point, because that's still a good amount of money and the other brands are already rusting at that point.

It was one of the top reasons I switched over my fleet before they all started to show signs of body rust, usually 5-7 years here if not sooner. I have a pretty good scratch down to the aluminum on my tailgate and it’s gone through two Midwest winters with no deterioration. Being all the fleets run fords new body panels, doors and cabs should be plentiful for the next 20-30 years.

The rams aren't selling because they are underpowered and under equipped compared to the competition. Has to spend 90k on the 3rd best truck by a mile.

I saw a commercial on YouTube yesterday stating that Benoit Ford in Louisiana is selling everything they have on the lot at employee pricing. I think the bottom is starting to fall out of the market both new and used..... :smokin:

thats gimmick shit, i got about 8k off msrp on two trucks in the last 3 months.

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Not even close

I owned both the trucks I referred to. I am correct.

I had zero quality issues over 7 years of 2016 Ram 3500 ownership. I had several quality issues on the F250 before I even got the truck to the house.

The fit and finish does not even compare. The Ford flat out sucks for fit and finish. The Ram was perfect. I still have the Ford. I know several people with 2023 Fords and their trucks have similar issues. Paint issues, body gap inconsistencies (they gap in my buddy's F250 between the doors goes from 1/8" at the bottom to 3/8" at the top), interior squeaks, interior rattles, exhaust rattles, shit in the paint (I have that on my truck, they must paint these trucks outside), interior trim gaps and fitting, leaks (my business partner's 2023 F250 has a mystery leak), ect.

Those are facts.

Most recent invoice I could find for a D11 was in '22 and $2,333,559.60

Is "employee pricing" A Plan?

Id say the build/matierial quality on the body/interior is slightly down on the 23-up Super duty and 21-up f150 when compared to the 17-22 Super duty & 15-20 f150. Instrument cluster is laggy & clunky still after multiple updates, window motors slow as hell, wipers clocked wrong, switches and buttons feel cheaper etc.

So why did you buy the ford?

I've owned a lot (dozen +) of 1997-2023 Ford pickups. All 3/4 or 1 ton, except for one F150. All were excellent vehicles. Since I decided to move from diesel to gas, I wanted to try out the 7.3. I didn't realize that Ford's fit and finish quality had fallen off a cliff since 2013. It's like 1970 Mopar when it comes to fit and finish. Although, 1970 Mopar probably had better paint and gaps.

damn you sound like you got a friday night second shift after a liquid lunch truck. my 22 f350 platinum is pretty fawking nice. maybe they just fucked you on the poverty package. but my 23 f150 xl with the stx package is pretty nice also for a low end truck. the turning radius sucks though.

This is stupid
