He’s being aggressive about it but he’s not wrong. You seem like a nice guy in every other aspect but threads on religion seem to trigger the ideologue in you. It’s ok to believe you know the truth but to me condescending about it is odd. Your tone comes off as gleeful when you’re trying to disprove other people’s religion

Well I can appreciate that... and it isn't intentional.

I was being a bit sarcastic above in response to his tone... had he approached me how you did, I probably would have reacted different I suppose. We're all human man.

It is not your talking points with 'another guy'. it is your attitude that you and you alone have the key to the divine and no one else compares unless they think just like you do.

I have been surrounded by people like you far too long in my life, I have seen the results of those hypocrites that espouse 'Jesus' yet couldn't live a day within his principles. Your positions disgusts me with the stench of 1500 years of Catholic hypocrisy, 1000 years of monarchies meddling in religion to support their reigns, 500 years of Crusades and Templars, 100 years of southern baptist denial, all doing 'gods work'.

I did try to approach you differently... Your arrogance let you ignore all of it.

Until I really called you out you kept ignoring me. Then when someone else chimes in suddenly it is my fault for not approaching you 'differently'.

But hey, I learned the resident Jesus nutswinger here... I stay out of the other thread because it actually says if you aren't a believer stay out so I stopped reading. No idea who is in there...

It is sad that you can't see it.

The self-righteousness that ONLY YOUR interpretation of these stories can be correct. You won't even acknowledge the commentary that the bible is flawed because that might undercut your position. The meddlings in the books by various monarchs and popes has corrupted that book far more than the potential mistakes by translators and scribes, yet you clutch it like it is the life raft that will save you. It is a guide on how to live, with stories to illustrate the guidelines.

There are 10 Commandment... not 1000.
There are stories not laws.

Quit treating it like it means more than you want it to mean, because then you are worshiping the false god of your ego that makes you think it is RIGHT.

As soon as you are sure you have it right you are either a prophet or a false prophet, but when you get there you won't know the difference in the two.

Watching all you guys argue about only the latest editor to your chosen fairytale is pretty entertaining. Sadly, all christains have been duped by a bunch of roman boy-****ers. I wonder if that makes all the current catholic priests molesting boys ironic or prophetic?

I don't know "the truth". Which is sort of the problem with christians in general. None of them can admit that they may be wrong and all of them insist that they know the answer and insist on everyone converting as a result. Personally, anyone babbling about "the one true god" or "the one and only god" should be drowned.

I have always found it interesting that so many religions across so many people exist, and that one can say that the others are not true.

Why would a god limit people like this? The people born in the Amazon jungle would never be exposed to a religion from another culture on the other side of the planet, so then all those Amazon people just automatically never have the ability to be with god at the end of their lives?

We all make our own minds up on that... but I won't say we don't all have our own world/ life view. What many call my beliefs as religion, I would call any world view a "belief". Organized or not it's a persons belief system.

I don't mind having mine challenged.

I never claimed to know better and I also said that was my personal opinion, not the dogma of my religion.

If you want to find wrong, look at the history of your chosen religion. Conversion by the sword is probably one of the most wrong things I can think of.

If I am wrong, it is my fate and is unavoidable. But I don't go around telling people to follow me nor my path.

I can acknowledge the mistakes of Christianity... as well as my own personal mistakes.

And if I am wrong, that's my fate as well... I'm just looking at truth. Nobody is going to force you on anything, I was just offering a different perspective, no need to be disgruntled over it.:beer:

And the fact of the matter is, you did come here and voice an opinion on the matter... same as me. I'm not telling anyone to follow me, nor my path either. Just making it known what I believe. Again, same as you. Talking about my beliefs. People are free to decide for themselves.
