The mormon stuff thread

Hey!! Good for you!! I haven't seen them since the kung flu but... I received 2 letters in the past 2 years :mad3:

I've yet to see LDS peeps going door to door but do see them doing straight up visits & going inside w/books-
I haven't seen the witnesses come around in a while either, but when they did

I always asked them if I could stop by their house and talk with them (bad time right now)
Not a single one would tale me up on that offer, they can invade my privacy unannounced, but when you try to make an appointment, they all of a sudden get very uncomfortable for some reason like they are hiding something. and realllllly get uncomfortable when you point that out to them:grinpimp:

I will leave you with this thought that is stuck in my head.

Travelling this week I am staring out the windshield a lot.

If the God of the bible allowed his word to be corrupted until the 1800's then he is not the God of Gods that is described in the bible.

If the God of the Book of Mormon has not allowed at least as much proof or validation of the book of Mormon that exists for the bible,
then he is not the God of Gods either.
So, you are saying God should deny people their free will? Because that is s9mething that He would have to do to prevent mistranslations of the Bible, which have been proven by a lot of biblical scholars.

Here is a link to the mistranslations of the KJV.

Here is a wikipedia page of when the books of the Bible were written. Some of the gospels were written in the second century CE. That means at least 150 years after Christ was crucified. The earliest book of the New Testament was John, at 125 CE. I am sure that all of the Biblical histories have a basis in truth, but a basis in truth does not mean absolute accuracy, in any way. Shoot, I have family stories that I have heard all my life that have morphed and changed, in 50 years, and there was no personal interest in changing the narrative, other than to be able to tell a better story.

Translators were given a job, you don't do your job you get fired. Has nothing to do with free will.

The bible has so many different texts to verify the accuracy of the bible translations. New and old Testament it is very hard for a logical person to discount it. From different countries and languages, because the disciples spread out over the world, they didn't stay together. There are accounts that prove the events from non religious/church people, such as rome sent investigators to see what was going on when Jesus was crucified. Their reports verify the events as described in the bible.
there was not just one or two translators, there were hundreds. I often wondered if the Jews were chosen partially because they were such good record keepers.
With all of these different recordings from all over the world they still came back and say the same things.

It is pretty amazing to have so much supporting proof of the translations including things like the dead sea scrolls that were found centuries later but still verified the original translations were pure.

In comparison.
The book of Mormon needed no translation yet so full of errors. The the bible has had changes there has been no theory or doctrine changes. The book of Mormon has had Doctrine changes. That alone says that it was either not recorded properly or it has been corrupted.

The book of mormom has no supporting documents to verify it's origin or events or anything to prove that it is true except for things created by other mormons.

Is there non Mormon documents that prove the book of mormon is telling the truth?
That is what I am looking for and cannot find. Find them for the bible all over the place, but nothing for the book of Mormon.

He went away, was came back, and now his ghost again. :homer:

That was the Gecko dude, right ?
