The mormon stuff thread

Answering this truthfully will result in unending grief from you, for at least the next 15 minutes :flipoff2:
Answering it truthfully only means you are honest about it. Nothing else.

I follow the word of God, as it's written in the only 66 books of the bible. I am being honest and up front with my beliefs, why can't you?

Obfuscation = freedom

Giving you solid answers boxes in those boundaries

When I was a kid, my Uncle took me with them to their Mormon church
.......It took allll mutherfucking day

that is all I needed to know about that, and did not let that mistake happen anymore

Which one though? Which translation?

I could be a Mormon if they'd still let you drink beer, it's right in their doctrine that beer is good for you but the church decided it wasn't. Also the 10% off the top of your income is a little bit aggressive for an organization with billions of dollars in assets. Only one wife is kinda shitty too, I need two or three godamnit!

Do Mormon teens let Morman boys put it in their butts to or is that just the non-mormans? The Catholic girls didn't seem to care but I wasn't ever prissy enough for the Morman girls I knew growing up.

They also didn't allow caffeine, but then they acquired PEPSI and behold! It was accepted.

False prophets appear all the time as well... and we are told to be vigilant. Aren't we?

Mathew 7:15

"Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly are ravenous wolves."

The book of Mormon is a completely different gospel... in fact it isn't even a gospel at all. It's a fabrication written by a man who wanted to fulfil his desires to have power, bang little girls, have multiple wives and be his own God. It just isn't truthful. It's an outright lie.

And you sit here quoting a book that was edited by kings and popes to support the things they wanted to believe in / enforce upon the population to ensure their rule and subjugation of the same.

Look into the history of the book you quote and tell me how you arrived at the position that the version you quote is the one 'God' chose as his sacred writings.

At least the Mormons have enough sense to say they believe the bible to be the word of god 'insofar as it is translated correctly'. And there is plenty of evidence that the King James isn't translated correctly.

You can't use one ghost story to disprove another ghost story.

And look... I am not here to bash Mormons. I have a number of friends that are Mormon, they pretty much outnumber anyone else in Northern Az. I do vehemently disagree with the doctrine, and will call a lie a lie when I encounter it. Doesn't mean I disrespect them or any man... but I do see the deception that's taken root. That's all.

Which edition of the Bible?
Are you are confident that every word was translated exactly as it was intended to be?
Are you confident that every important book was included and none of the books that were "left on the cutting room floor" were something that God wanted included?
Have you looked at the nitty gritty of how they picked what books go in?

I've had the pleasure of their company. Some good, some bad.

The bad is it's a damn cult that preys on the weakness in people.

I've seen people so miserable they were suicidal, but they couldn't leave their **** of a wife because they would be shunned from their temple. One of them so broke he could barely eat (not because he didn't make good money, but because his ****y wife would spend and spend) and the temple audited him and threatened to shun him for not tithing enough.

There's shitty churches in all religions. The Mormons just seem extra good at being power hungry.

Because the Vatican embracing the gays and abortion is so pure, behold after centuries of pedophilia :flipoff2:

Of the Greek references or Aramaic... the Hebrew. Yes, I believe it was translated correctly. And yes I have studied history pretty well.

the same can be said of every organized religion (or political party... :stirthepot: )

A friend of mine married a Mormon. His family and friends showed up in shorts and t-shirts. Her family and friends showed up in suits and dresses. We were ALL sucking down nips during the ceremony. That's all I got.

The secularists deceive themselves under Mass psychosis, played by the strings of a hundred years of communist nudging.

So no, you aren't safe by denying religion:flipoff2:

I don't deny religion, everyone needs their own private heaven and hell to keep them in line.

The problem is that too many people want to organize other peoples heaven and hell and don't realize that it doesn't work that way.

Say what?
Pepsi as in stock options... They have a pretty good investment in it.

It is estimated that the Mormon church has assets worth around $100 billion. Some of the companies they are believed to have shares in include Apple, Google, Amazon, and Facebook...

Jet Blue is Mormon owned as are:
Marriot
Black and Decker
Huntsman
SkyWest

a few more notable ones.

And there's nothing wrong with Mormons drinking Pepsi or Coke... I just see the humor in not allowing Caffeine early on and clarifying that it was all good after they publicly bought large shares in Pepsi Co.

I believe that was cocaine according to Eric Clapton

Correct

Burp

Late to the inferno but the bastards have huge families which isn't helping global warming much . . . . . .:mr-t:

Ya know like Al Gore and Georgy Soros arent down with it . . ..

Couldn't get Pepsi or Coke at BYU in the 90's that I can recall. But I bet it's there now.

I didn't go to BYU but had close friends who did.

I thought you conservatives were into religion, it's the godless progressives that hate it...
