Texas Gov Abbot/National Guard Block Border Patrol

So....if we continue to fund UKR (and Israel), have the Ukrainians resorted to drafting their pre-teens into the battles yet?

I think it's more optics than anything else. Looks like they're doing something when they're not and it gives them a finger to point when it fails.

Special interesr shit is just business as usual. Money laundering, pandering to AIPAC, etc. If it passes, great. If not, hey well we tried.

I think it's their way of making this border mess permanent. The numbers they want to let in "legally" with this bill are embarrassing. This is their shot at getting it done before they lose the white house and they are hoping it's their ticket back in next time.

Sadly you're right. It's also going to be a legal nightmare. How do you find, process, and deport millions of people without seriously infringing on people's rights? Passive deportation of finding illegals in things like traffic stops is only going to go so far. Catching them at the border is one thing, but what about the millions already here? I'm all for giving them all the boot, but I'm not willing to overlook trampling all over the Constitution to do it. Nevermind the general optics of it.

Be great to sort them by who's receiving assistance and such. The ones who aren't don't bother me much. Cashed that 5k check? Bye. Obama phone? Yeet. Room at the plaza? Outahere.

Incentivize them to turn themselves in. You turn yourself in you don't get charged for being here illegally, we send you back to your home country on our dime and you're free to apply to come back legally in the future unless you're caught here illegally again. Waive any outstanding misdemeanors. Felonies get reduced penalties if they're non violent.

The ones not receiving welfare aren't any better. They're still here taking money out of our economy to send back home, taking up housing, driving down wages, taking jobs, etc.

More like are you ok with the Feds kicking your door in because they suspect you're illegal or cops pulling you over 5x as much because you drive a construction vehicle.

New Border bill is bad.. very bad, It's designed to codify the current illegal immigration to make it easier to let them in, incentivize it through work visas, make it impossible for states like TX to litigate it outside of DC, and limit the presidential powers in case Trump gets back into office. It's meant to fail so they can beat the GOP over the head with it for "doing nothing to help the border." BUT it would hamstring the next Administration if it did somehow get passed. It's the democrats wetdream of win/win.

While I sympathize with your concerns, the millions of destitute peasants drifting through the cities looking for assistance won’t be in construction vehicles wouldn’t ya think ?

Constitution follows the flag. It doesn't grant rights, it recognizes natural rights and restricts our government. Rights like freedom of speech or 4th amendment protections apply to everyone, not just citizens.

Yep, what happens when the Texas NG just ignores the order? If they don't comply the escalation looks way worse for the Feds than just this back and forth on erecting and tearing down barriers. Especially now that half the states in the country have publicly declared support for Texas.
