Texas Gov Abbot/National Guard Block Border Patrol

And just like that it was over. Abbott will be blamed for the kids dying.

TX NG and DPS will be clearing out of the park within a day or two and BP will be doing what they have to do.

No BP agent likes helping the illegals, but the fact remains once they cross that line in the middle of the river, federal law says BP has to take them into custody. They just cant push them back. BP wasnt cutting razor wire to help illegals, they cut it to make them easier to arrest. The razor wire was several feet if not yards on American soil. It was already too far on this side of the border to do a damn thing.

then leave the razor wire and arrest them once they've crossed it  WTF are they doing with the arrest? catch and release and ship them to somewhere the hell else in the USA.

pretty much helping illegals is all.

you gotta be, what 2 feet tall to drown in that river

The dreamers aren't the problem. Those are the ones we should want. College educated, no criminal record, etc. I'm not saying they get a free pass or get to stay, but don't waste resources chasing people who aren't causing problems.

It's the ones working under the table and sending all of the money back home or the ones coming here to pump babies out to gain citizenship or traffic drugs and humans. The ones who have been here for years and still don't speak English or pay tax. Fuck those guys. And any minor criminal conviction or problem they need to go back no matter how long they've been here.
Fuck them. They had a chance to try to naturalize and most decided against it. Maybe they are the last to go, but every one of them gots to go home. Had one little scrunt in school, and she was all Si se puede bullshit, and reduced tuition for dreamers, below in state tuition, etc., etc. I’d love to see that bitch sent back to her native land…

Normally the would process for removal but with the changes in asylum rules and the sheer number they deport who they can and the rest go north to processing centers where some are deported, some detained, and most released. Welcome Dem America.

Depends where you cross and what the current is doing. Werent there storms up north TX this week? River is probably ripping.

sure, if you can't give it a couple days or walk the mile or so to the next easy to cross spot, then I honestly believe you earned your death.

That's just lazy

"somebody handed me a loaded gun, they told me to kill myself, they said they would kill me if i didn't, so of course, i killed myself"

well...okay, sure not your fault. :homer:

Any predictions for tomorrow?

Does Abbott call off the NG at the end of the day like Biden wants him to do or does Abbott give the Biden administration the big middle finger and shit escalates?

I'll be honest...... I hope he tells Biden to fuck off and the dems do something stupid that requires bullets to fly. I'm completely over the stupidity and want to see heads roll. Fuckit!

Amy Coney Barrett Says Ruling For Open Border Has Nothing To Do With Landscaping Work She Needs Done This Summer

WASHINGTON, DC — Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett fielded questions from reporters regarding her controversial vote to remove razor wire from the Texas border and claims it has absolutely nothing to do with her plans to re-landscape her yard this summer.
"My plans to have a nice row of Elm trees planted along the southern fence of my backyard has nothing to do with my vote to allow more gardeners, er, I mean illegal immigrants, into the country," Justice Barrett explained.
The Supreme Court ruled in a 5-4 vote against Governor Greg Abbott's efforts to stop the flow of illegal immigrants entering the United States through Texas's southern border. Justice Barrett voted to allow border patrol agents to remove razor wire placed there by Texas officials, a move she said has nothing to do with her search for a landscaping crew that's affordable and will work for cash payments.
"My yard plans have nothing to do with my vote to allow the river of illegal migrants to continue to pour across the border," Justice Barrett said. "Now, if Governor Abbott happens to send a bus of hard-working cheap laborers up to the East Coast and I happen to pick up a few of those laborers in the parking lot of my local Home Depot and they happen to install a nice flagstone path between my deck and backyard veggie garden, so be it."
As of publishing time, Justice Barrett had downloaded the language-learning app Duolingo on her phone and was learning all the ways to say "I want Kentucky Blue Grass planted over there by the rock wall, please," a move she says has nothing to do with her most recent judicial decision.

I have not had time to fact check this... but it was posted 2 hours ago.

Like I said before it’s absolutely unconstitutional for Abbot to do what he did.

It’s also absolutely unconstitutional for the .gov to not secure our borders. So it’s a stalemate.

Texas has more money than the .gov. 🤷‍♂️

Agents ‘absolutely’ don’t want to cut Greg Abbott’s razor wire, Border Patrol union president says

by Jennie Taer

Border Patrol agents don’t want to cut Republican Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s border wire after the Supreme Court ordered that the federal government can take it down, National Border Patrol Council President Brandon Judd told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

The Supreme Court ruled Monday that federal authorities can take down wire that Texas erected along the southern border, but the state is putting up more wire in Eagle Pass, Texas, at Shelby Park, which it took control of earlier this month. Border Patrol agents largely support Texas’ efforts, several rank-and-file agents recently told the DCNF .

“Agents absolutely do not want to cut the razor wire, but we have an obligation to follow a legal order,” Judd told the DCNF. “We will continue to put as much pressure on the admin to fix the crisis as we can. That will not change.”

The Biden administration sent a letter to Republican state Attorney General Ken Paxton on Jan. 14 asking that the state stand down from its position at Shelby Park by Jan. 17, according to CNN. Paxton responded by saying that Texas would hold its post.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) sent a letter to Paxton Tuesday urging him to allow Border Patrol full access to Shelby Park.

The Biden administration claimed that state authorities had blocked border agents from helping save three drowning migrants in the Rio Grande, but the Department of Justice (DOJ) later admitted in court filing that state authorities hadn’t been informed until after the drownings had already occurred.

The union is trying to push the Biden administration to secure the southern border through “public pressure,” Judd explained.

“Public pressure is the only pressure that works. We’re the ones who have been out in front of the issue since day one. We took the largest contingent of U.S. Senators ever to the border and my job is to continue to tell the truth and try to foster public conversation,” Judd told the DCNF. “There are a lot of others including those in the media that are trying to give the public all the facts to allow them to make informed decisions based [on] complete information.”

The ruling as I see it has no teeth. It only removed a previous ruling that prevented the feds from removing the wire.
So... Now the feds "may" remove it. But I don't see that it requires Texas to "Let" them.

Shelby Park appears to be a local city or county park, not federally owned. What right do the feds even have to enter it?

Gawd Bless Texas :usa:

I cant read this without getting pissed off. We need a Concord/Lexington replay to stop the ruin of our nation.

Washington — Texas state officials this week abruptly blocked federal U.S. Border Patrol agents from entering and patrolling a public area in the border town of Eagle Pass where they typically first encounter migrants who cross the Rio Grande illegally, two U.S. officials told CBS News on Thursday.

After seizing control of Shelby Park in Eagle Pass, Texas National Guard units deployed by Republican Gov. Greg Abbott have prevented Border Patrol agents from entering the area, the federal officials said. Border Patrol has used the park in recent weeks to hold migrants in an outdoor staging area before they are transported for further processing, including last month, when illegal crossings soared to record levels.

Earlier Thursday, Texas state officials prevented Border Patrol boats from patrolling that area, one of the officials added, requesting anonymity because they were not authorized to talk to the press.

"They are denying entry to Border Patrol agents to conduct our duties," the official said, noting they are not sure "what authority (Texas officials) have over the federal government."

In a filing early Friday with the Supreme Court, the Justice Department described the extraordinary standoff between Texas and the federal government. Citing testimony from local officials and photos, the Justice Department said Texas was using armed Guardsmen and vehicles to deny Border Patrol agents and federal National Guard soldiers access to roughly 2.5 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border.

"Texas's new actions," the Justice Department said, "demonstrate an escalation of the State's measures to block Border Patrol's ability to patrol or even to surveil the border and be in a position to respond to emergencies."
Somebody's got to splain to them the difference between "migrants" and "illegals" or this shit is just going to keep on keepin' on.
Send 'em all back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They ain't migrants if they are here illegally, PERIOD!

Ive been in that park. Got asked what the hell a a couple of White boys are doing looking over the border at 6pm. We just happened to have the night off and just exploring and seeing what everything was about. This was 8 yrs ago and it was the wild west even back then in that area. I can't even imagine now what its like. We'd be out on tower sites and see people running thru the mesquite and border patrol helicopters flying at our level looking us over. It was wild down there. Glad I got to experience it but don't have any reason to go back.

We'd mark on our GPS and send it to border agents when we'd come across bales of marijuana on the side of the dirt roads down there. If no one has actually been to that border you have no idea of what they are dealing with. Its insane

You'd think they'd appreciate the help from the state.

Texas Places Razor Wire Around The Alamo For Final Stand Against Biden

SAN ANTONIO, TX — With the Biden administration challenging Texas' right to defend its own border, Governor Abbott has ordered razor wire placed around The Alamo in preparation for a final stand against the feds.

"This is why we remember The Alamo," said Governor Abbott as the wire was unrolled. "Because you never know when a senile President will refuse to allow us to defend our border from invasion. Also, because it's a really handy marker if you get lost in downtown San Antonio. The Riverwalk gets so confusing."

Though some questioned Governor Abbott placing The Alamo at the heart of his defenses, Texas has rallied around the governor's plan. "Sure, the Alamo fell once," admitted local woman Mandy Timmons. "But Davy Crockett didn't have razor wire, or a massive, heavily-armed citizenry. I like our chances."

According to surveys, Texans have for decades now been praying for something to finally trigger secession. "Pretty much every Texan wants to secede, we just needed a reason," explained local man Raul Gonzales. "It always seemed like secession would be such a hassle, what with all the paperwork. I'm so glad we finally got the little nudge we needed."

At publishing time, dozens of Texans had reported that the ghost of Davy Crockett had been seen lurking on The Alamo walls at night, watching the horizon.

Here’s what would happen if Biden seized control of troops deployed by Abbott to border

by Jennie Taer

DCNF-large.jpg

President Joe Biden has faced pressure from members of his own party to take control of the Texas National Guard that Republican Gov. Greg Abbott has deployed to his state’s southern border. Were Biden to do so, experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation, it would be a major escalation in the conflict between the federal government and the Texas government.

Democratic Texas Reps. Joaquin Castro and Greg Casar urged Biden on Wednesday to seize control of the state’s National Guard as the Texas state government refuses to back down from its southern border operation. While it’s possible for Biden to do so, there are limits to what the president can do, experts in military law told the DCNF. (RELATED: Here’s What Biden’s White House Is Conveniently Leaving Out In Its Newest Border Security Narrative)

On Monday, the Supreme Court ruled that federal authorities can take down concertina wire that Texas has placed along the U.S.-Mexico border to deter illegal crossings. The state has continued to install more wire in Eagle Pass, Texas, at Shelby Park, which it took control of earlier this month.

The Biden Administration has been asking Texas to relinquish Shelby Park, but the state has refused to stand down.

The issue with Biden taking control of the National Guard troops that Abbott has deployed is that it would present a possible violation of the Posse Comitatus Act, which bars the use of the military for civil law enforcement duties, defense attorney Davis Younts told the DCNF.

“Every member of the Texas National Guard is also a member of the United States military, but it can be federalized for a lot of reasons,” Younts said.

“It can’t be specifically for law enforcement. It’s almost like responding to jello when you hear these guys start saying things like, oh Biden should federalize them. Okay, but what is the purpose?” Younts said.

There’s a chance Congress could step in to restrict Biden from attempting to to take federal control of the troops deployed by Abbott, Younts added.

“Another issue is could Congress step in under the continuing resolution or over the next funding bill. I’d say yeah but there’s no money to federalize Texas National Guard members to take down border barriers and help illegals cross,” Younts said.

“So I think there are still some interesting fights to be had from a funding standpoint because everything that National Guard does has to be funded, whether it’s federal money or state money, and there should be some sort of appropriation and some limitation on it. I would be curious about what the mission is and how they would justify it,” Younts said.

Biden would be motivated by a political agenda if he made the move, a Pentagon official and Jeffrey Addicott, law professor at St. Mary’s University, told the DCNF.

The move would be “injecting politics” into military operations and “the DoD doesn’t really want to get involved in that,” a Pentagon source, who was granted anonymity because they’re not authorized to speak publicly, told the DCNF. It “seems very unlikely” it would happen, said the source.

“The last time it was done, of course, in a meaningful way was what the desegregation issues were. Most of us, again, agreed with what was going on in terms of allowing desegregation here,” Addicott said.

The Texas Military Department has more than 1,000 service members deployed on Abbott’s border mission and it is currently seeking more volunteers to join the effort.

If Biden wanted to use the troops at the border for law enforcement purposes, he could frame it as an issue of a foreign dispute, Addicott explained.

“You could say that this is not a domestic issue because the illegal aliens are not citizens of the United States. They’re invading our country. They’re violating the law. They were coming illegally across the border. And therefore, the National Guard could be federalized to secure the border,” Addicott said.

“That would be an action under the Insurrection Act. The President has the authority,” said Addicott. “To do that, he would have to admit that they are illegally coming across the border and then he would say I need more support to secure the border. But of course, this is kind of hypocritical when he himself has admitted that the border is not secured.”

Illegal immigration has hit record levels in recent years, with Border Patrol recording more than 2.2 million encounters with migrants crossing the southern border illegally in fiscal year 2022 and more than 2 million in fiscal year 2023.

December marked the highest month on record, with more than 300,000 illegal migrant encounters, according to Fox News.

The Pentagon, the White House and an Abbott spokesperson didn’t immediately respond to the DCNF’s requests for comment.
