What's new

Shopping for a concealable Pistol

I'm sure that guy shoots better than the 365 being single action and 1911 style trigger. I just don't see why you'd give up 40% of capacity for it, plus I like having less shit to worry about. To each his own, as long as you practice with it, I'm sure it will be fine.

yeah FCG operates totally different
barrel tippy lack-of-a-link deal is more colt mustang, too

also yeah, I'd buy something with more capacity now at the expense of being wider, but I still like the little thing a lot
I also don't really care about concealing anything too much any more.
Nobody notices when my tiny 140lb ass carries a g21 with an lwd long slide, somewhat covered by a too-short tee shirt. Took the guy I used to work next to about 5 years to see it.

My new carry set up came in.

Alien Gear AIWB and mag carrier.

People get way to freaked out about super deep ultra tactical concealment shit.
They get freaked out no matter what.

Son's wife was carrying OWB in grocery store. Someone called the cops on her. Of course she was legal but cop told her, if you don't want this to happen you better conceal.

I don't pay attention to "no gun" signs so I try to make sure I am concealed very well.

People get way to freaked out about super deep ultra tactical concealment shit. My experience has been the only people who notice you are carrying are other people who are carrying. And most of the time the only thing they say is hey man, you’re printing/whatever and then ask you what you are carrying.
The super deep concealment shit is what drove the industry to churn out tons of tiny, annoying to shoot guns 10-15 years ago. "It fits in my pocket!" Cool, can you actually hit anything with it if by some miracle you manage an efficient draw from there? Most people don't pay enough attention to notice, or of they do they don't make a big deal of it.

Anyone try the 365 x macro yet? Heard a lot of good so far. 17+1 in the size of a 43x is pretty awesome.

Edit: wife got me one for my birthday

Just finger fucking it, it's very similar to my 365xl, but slightly larger grip, which fits my hand a little better. Haven't played with the different back straps yet.

the guy at the store mentioned a lot of guys are just buying the macro grip module and mags to convert their 365s. Or you can just get the mags with a grip extension. I wanted to give my wife the current xl, so opted for the whole thing.

one of you printer fags gotta print up a frame for a 26 slide that has a long enough grip that it'll only take a 31 rounder

May as well do it with the anime or something random like pizza hut print on it also :flipoff2:

I was trying not to get to crazy into the capacity wars. I wanted to get something else as the wife liked my 365xl a lot. Then this came out and had a slightly larger grip which fixed the one problem I had with the 365xl. The extra rounds is a bonus I guess.

If a 1911 trigger is so perfect why do they make so many replacements/upgrades?

Yet you also see very few 1911 owners that carry one every day, and the ones that are small enough to carry every day usually don't run worth a fuck.

You can't say that a glock has a good trigger

You also know that they make so many because it's a popular platform and people just want to mess with shit.

I don't see why people even compare a 1911 and a glock, they just aren't really even comparable.

Yea glock triggers ROCKTHEEWORLD:homer:

The difference between the two is
A $300 to say $3000 $$$ BUX UP 1911 platform

Vs a box stock sewin machine @ what msrp +- a hunnert bux?
How many comp gun makers specialize in g lock?

My girlfriend has a 365, I picked up a couple mag grip extensions for her so it's more comfortable. The 12 round mag I got her for her birthday is just a bit longer and she really likes it so the extensions for the others was an easy move.

Have had a couple officer sized 1911's. The Springfield I have now, doesnt give a shit what you feed it. Swc,fmj, hollow point it just works.

I think the main reason you dont see folks carrying 1911's much. Is that a plastic $500 pistol will do the same job. If it gets beat to shit who cares. If you do end up using the thing, I doubt your goona get it back. So why risk loosing a nice gun?

Weekend ride vs daily beltway beater.

Thats the stock grip size on the 365xl.

Anybody ever use the Wilson grip frame on the 365?

Yeah, I like it. It makes way more difference than I thought it would. The grip heel set further back and the slightly wider grip really fits the hand much better. I put in the flat trigger kit too. I can press from the bottom of the shoe and not pinch my finger like before.

I have one on my 365XL and like it a lot. Just slightly larger and fits my hand better than the stock grip module. I bought mine from Armory Craft and along with the tungsten weights, but I never installed them as I am happy with the way it handled w/o them for now.

Do some research, maybe you'll find something I didn't, but I could not find a single JHP that would reliably expand when fired from a sub-compact pistol with a barrel under 3". The guys whose opinions I trust all seemed to agree.

that's cool
I carry steel cased FMJ anyways

9mm subcompacts flat out suck to shoot and everyone needs to put lots of rounds through their carry guns and run drills to remain proficient.
you should try a sig 938
they're the little colt mustang clone in 9x19
There's something about that little pocket gun, I can ring steel way further off than I should be able to... Prolly twice as far as I can with the glock 19 that I've been carrying for a few years (which actually took the place of the 938 because capacity matters)
