Russia / Ukraine thread

Checkmate fuckers. It will be over by monday

I’m just wondering where all these Russian troops are camped out? It’s not like they can have an actual encampment. Seems like that would be to easily over run. So are they driving back across the border each day to their camps? Take turns sleeping in vehicles? Their logistics seems to not make sense. If they truly don’t hold any cities, where are they going when not engaging the Ukrainian army?
They aren't, or something. Today was supposed to be a big roll back out day after the initial push to get Ukraine to the table didn't work, at least according to the Russian side of the story.

Which is why I'm curious what Monday holds

The more you consider, reflect on the actions, statements and rhetoric, reporting...

... does it not make more sense biden won the 2020 election fair and square, than this crap?

Nope. Lots of countries have provided weapons and armament without declaring war.

We've done it, in WW2 with the UK, China, et al

Others have too.

I hope Zelensky makes it. I like him a lot.

Exactly, and what was the end result?

What's there to like about a corrupt regime?

This is a good recap of all that's going on especially Putins rhetoric regarding the western "nazis"

“If Ukraine manages to hold the Russians off for 10 days, then the Russians will have to enter negotiations,”

Negotiations? What's the negotiation? Get the fuck out?

Considering Syria Putins going to get a happy Ukrainian ending

Caught a video this morning of a RUS tank column sitting on some country road in UKR that had run out of fuel. Some UKR guy stopped and asked them if the were broke down, they said they were out of gas. UKR dude offered to tow them back to RUS and they all laughed.
They also said they didn't know where they were going

Does this sound like a world powers military? It seems like all RUS has going for them is Air Power and that is about to come to end with all the stingers and GTA missiles pouring into UKR.

Nope, like I said earlier. It’s war theater sadly.

Surely all these thoughts to cripple Russians economy aren't going to hurt them over night. I fail to see where that country is so badly off they can't survive for a good amount of time being cut off.

There's local bars and such touting how they are pouring away Russian Vodka on Fecalbook. Damned idiots think they are hurting the Russian economy dumping out things they paid for already:lmao:
Kind of like NH, OH, and TX governor's directing the state owned liqour store to pull any spirits made in Russia from the shelves. I thought Abbott had half a brain. This shits already been paid for. Just sell what you got and dont buy anymore. Jesus fuck this whole country is one big clown show.

You know US troops do this same kind of stupid shit all the time too? Thats why support units stay as busy as they do. Im not knocking our troops Im just saying shit happens.

I wonder how many SF guys will suddenly be on leave? :stirthepot:
None. That is a prison sentence.

Not that I have ever seen. They don't run out, when they get low, the assume defensive positions and wait for fuel. They do not get strung out in a 2 mile column on a country road

Read another column that is recommending all RUS hockey players be immediately suspended from the NHL. Fucking ridiculous. Like these guys are calling shots in UKR. I can understand the volunteer dumping of Vodka ( I personally think dumping vodka is a sin) but as always, the people in this country have to take shit too far and oust the RUS hockey players that live and play in this country.

Penguins lose Malkin and I will lose my shit. Guy already missed half the season recovering from knee surgery I can't keep my shit together if we lose him for the playoffs over this war. You jackasses think this war doesn't affect us? Watching Penguins hockey is the last enjoyable diversion I have. I will become unhinged.

I suppose I should have added government sponsored to my sentence.
The UK secretary of state has said she supports UK citizens who chose to answer Ukraine's call.
You've gotta think it'd be pretty easy to slip a dozen or so SAS troopers in as civilians and even if they never picked up a weapon they would represent a significant force multiplier through their tactical training/experience in guerilla warfare.....

Don't know other countries rules but ours is very clear that if you pick up arms under another flag you will go straight to Leavenworth for a good long stretch. I know for a fact that we have drones flying all over the place.

I agree that this is all theatrical at best. I think Russia moving in all that equipment was a bluff, and when that bluff got called, Putin was like “shit, Russians don’t bluff, so go ahead and invade” without any actual invasion plans other than a show of force with the expectation that the Ukrainians would roll over and capitulate. It’s like they didn’t learn anything from Afghanistan.

Just a shame that so many people have to die or lose their livelihood for some bullshit theatrics.

If Putin doesn’t suicide himself, or get suicided by some inner-circle folks, he’s in for a very tough life once this all settles.
