Russia / Ukraine thread

Russia invading Ukraine is actually to Biden's benefit, as it solves a lot of his and Hunter's problems......
Counter Point, The Ukraine Gov flees the country when it gets bad and lots of "classified" documents are taken/found in the commotion.

ukrainian UK ambassador on the sky news right now talking about russian attacks targeted mostly towards fuel depots, airfields, bridges and dams.

it was well thought out anyhow. absolutely crippled the mobility of ukrainian forces.

wants nato action and equipment to destroy russian armor.

ETA: You do understand there are German U-Boats sunk off our coast right? Like as in swimming distance from American soil. There is one that used to stick out of the water in Willoughby Spit and another that got caught in the chain nets at NOB? If you stand on what used to be pier 12, renamed to pier 23 now I think, and point out at your 2:00, there is the remains of a German Sub down there.
Once again, you don't need to have boots on the ground to invade a country. OBL was very effective and low cost which caused more damage than any boots he could have put on the ground. Boots on the ground is for occupying and holding territory these days.
Right now, Russia is invading and conquering Ukraine. Growing in size.

Japan, obl, attacked on American soil. They didn't once invade and conquer.

Your context on invade (Russia into Ukraine for territory) would be exceptionally difficult for any country to do to usa.. Attacking any country is not difficult.

I'm talking invade and conquering as is the context. Not sole one off airspace invasion and attack.
I could have sworn Japanese "invasion" of Pearl Harbor in Hawaii would fall under the category of invasion of US territory.:homer:
I don't disagree. But it's not similar to Russia invading Ukraine, saying this land is now mine. As is the context.

Tldr
Nobody's scared of the U.S. anymore. Get real.
The un?:lmao:
Noto:eek: effin joke

Without a new thread, so where should the line be drawn? When SHOULD US boots hit a foreign soil. Or is everybody on the boat of "not until Alaska, Hawaii or even Cuba"?

To me that would be extremely too late. I think we have no choice but to back Nato. By the time they are taken we would be "owned".

Has anybody planned the international conference yet? You know, the one where we all get together and decide that Russia can have certain parts of Ukraine containing "ethnic Russians"? Ukraine of course, will not be invited to this meeting.
Gee, reminds me of a certain conference in Munich. :mad3:

ukranian president says they're fighting at chernobyl.
the exclusion zone is the shortest route to the capital.

We supply the VAST majority of NATOs funding.

Ukraine is NOT a NATO member.

WTF do you want us to do legally?

Maybe gearing up to defend themselves.😬
We’ve got a lot of US army reservists in Poland right now, 2 local guys I know got shipped there last month.
If Poland gets involved I’m sure we will too.

Chamberlain would be proud!

We need to support Ukraine because if we don't it is open season on changing borders by conquest. Most of the civilized worlds borders have been stable since WWII. China and others are watching to see the worlds reaction and doing the math on whether sanctions alone can hurt them enough to care.

There is no way to appease Putin. He will take what he thinks he can get away with. I'm sure he has plans for Georgia, Moldova, Belarus and so on... Any country that was part of Russia at any part of history should be prepare and entrench now.

Saw a graph that said Finland gets 100% of their NGas from Russia. What the hell were they thinking?

In this situation, you would want to at minimum get boots on the ground while western Europe still stands so that you have a staging area.

List me off a few effects a Russian invasion of Ukraine effects me or mines today, tomorrow or 5 years from now.
Dude, please just stay out of this conversation. You obviously cannot understand the effects on the entire world.

For anyone interested, Funkers530 is getting some awesome video of the invasion. Somebody forgot to give Ukraine updated MANPADS as a whole fleet of Russion helicopters flew through at least 3 missile shots inside a mile by just popping flares. In broad daylight.

It's the domino affect. Not directly, but indirectly. After some needed research I've discovered Ukraine is going to affect us quite a bit. Boils down to more money going to Russia. I would list the many things and feel smart by doing so, but instead here's a good read. Appears to me we will see a 5% hit on basically everything if we don't send another 5% to Russia.

We get boots on the ground to deliver an ass whoopin in defense of an an action taken against us.

but here is the twist.... THEN WE GET THE HELL OUT!! That is the point that continuously gets lost. We put boots on the ground and decide we are going to build a better nation and stay there for fucking ever.
