Rapey Snap-On Tools

I find that hard to believe, more like your finger bent the pick into a U turn. Poked your paw with a pick riiiiight :flipoff2:

I bought this snap on pick set which included small screw drivers in it also years ago. I use the long hook pick laying there the most but once in a while use the pick set.

And because I believe you, I just bought one off of eBay in new condition for a little over $20. I’ll report back when it shows up. :smokin::laughing:

The new ones and the replacement shanks don't have the flange on them that stops the shank from going into the handle when trying to punch through or dent sheet metal.

That looks to be very painful to me.
It took me a moment to register what happened. The entery is the bottom of my finger. It started bleeding at the top first and I didn't realize what happened until blood started coming out of the entery. It didn't start to hurt for about 30 minutes.

Beware, that sort of puncture is prone to infection. At the very least, dump some tequila on it then wrap it in electrical tape.

Just like my 30mpg cummings, brah. :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Srsly though, if you already own narrow and deep and they're both readily accessible (i.e. the shallow isn't buried under a pile of pullers in some drawer and only used when you need it) I doubt you're saving that much time unless there's some specific job you do over and over again that they make faster. Not having to think about which socket to grab probably makes you feel better about using them though.

Don't you mostly work on shit that's out of the vehicle? Of all the people who'd care about socket length I didn't figure you'd be one.
Socket length isn't about just access....try pulling an oily short socket off a ratchet or driver....it can be tough, a deep socket is easy because you can grab it. A mid length socket is just as easy as a deep socket, but not difficult like a shallow socket, but still fits where most shallow sockets will and deep sockets won't.

I haven't touched a shallow socket in probably 3 years....the mid lengths get all the use because they're just better

I have two medium well swivel sockets 13 & 14 mm. They are used to remove the bolts with studs from the bellhousing of a chevy pickup transmission. I also have a couple of really long extensions to get the sockets up there.

Crazy, as long as I've been buying tools and using them, I've never ran into a situation needing a mid length socket. Y'all act like since you've been using them, there is no other socket out there to use

I guess at this rate, I may put them (metric and SAE) sets on my hit list and see what all the fuss is about :flipoff2:

Do it, its a must:flipoff2:

In my case I decided to add them to the collection, extra sockets don't hurt (metric only as I seldom need/use fractional).

You are not doing this right:flipoff2:

Need a $2k tool cart and at least double the amount of hand ratchets:laughing:...
I have the cart, but until my house is built I have to use the inlaws garage and I have no way to roll it around in this dump:laughing: I have a Green with blacked trim and Stainless top KRSC430:flipoff2:
SAE junk gets junk tools:flipoff2:
I see HF, GW, Blue-Point, and SO in that tray. It's like the UN, all the shithole countries (brands) piling on the first world.:flipoff2:
Variety is the spice of life.

Anyone who still likes the discontinued 36 tooth 936 series ratchets will find the Williams have the same internals and are made in USA in the Snap-on factory. This one was $60 off Amazon.

The snap-on version has served me well for the last 17 years. I like the click and usually end up with this one in my hand unless I need something finer.

I did that years ago with an insulation support. was picking up the box full of them when the bottom broke open. tried to catch them by shoving the box down and put one through my index finger right at the cuticle. went straight through bone and all. didnt hurt at all. until the doc jabbed that needle in to numb it up.

bitch bolt extension for the win :smokin:

Our Snap-on guy stopped showing up, he's a cuck anyway so no big loss. Gave my stuff to a friend that's at a dealer and warrantied no problem. Dude warrantied a pliers with worn teeth I found under a hood no questions asked.

Does anyone know if Williams sells replacement shanks, or will warranty them?
