Build Project Comman'DOH

Do it! :stirthepot: Everyone seems to hate LS swaps as much as they used hate sbc swaps. But they were common and are common, for a reason. The custom frame just makes sense. The old jeep frames were limp noodles.

I'm debating it. I could keep the maggy engine now, because its there, or a 5.3 and 4L60. I'm still wanting a 241OR for the TC, so, the trans will have to be modified/rebuilt anyway,

I'm no builder, so the frame could end up being some junk i cobble, or buying one from TDK or Grant Chapman who builds Commando parts.

C104 the frames are very similar, and just as questionable.
I meant a reproduction. But you are right, if its not a boxed repro, it'll still be noodle-ish. Might be easier than finding a commando specific one. Or box the rails in. I built mine for my six, but they're not that complicated. EndlessMtnFab just did a stellar job designing a frame in cad, you may talk to him as well.

What about a JKU frame. Then all your suspension and motor mount options are wide open to ready made stuff.
I have a 2DR JK frame kicking around, and I'm just not sure about it. I would have to stretch it, and buy an off the shelf kit, plus I already bought a 3 link kit from RS, and I already have my CO's.

Stretching that would be easier than building a whole frame.

3 link could be used on it front and could use leaves in rear still if that's what you were planning.

Or vice versa
