Maybe this is what my wife heard on the radio this morning. She said someone is planning a 4-6 week lockdown and has the money to pay people to stay home. She just caught the last bit of it and didnt know who or where it was coming from. We are in kansas.

Fauci: COVID-19 Won't 'Be Pandemic for a Lot Longer'

COVID-19 won’t be a pandemic for "a lot longer" thanks to rapid progress in vaccine development, says Anthony Fauci, the top U.S. infectious disease official.

The coronavirus could nonetheless remain endemic for a long time, the director of the U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases said at an event organized by Chatham House, a U.K. think tank.

"Certainly it’s not going to be pandemic for a lot longer, because I believe the vaccines are going to turn that around," Fauci said. "Vaccines will help us. What we’ve got to do is just hang on and continue to double down on the public health measures."

Generally, a pandemic is defined as an infection that puts the global population at risk, while an endemic disease is one that spreads in some areas and not others.

Fauci also said developers should push to make billions of their COVID-19 vaccines to ensure access to all parts of the world, instead of focusing on the rich countries.

Fauci's comments come days after Pfizer Inc said its COVID-19 vaccine candidate was more than 90% effective based on initial results from a large-scale trial, securing a lead in the race to develop a safe and effective vaccine for the respiratory illness.

Pfizer has a $1.95 billion contract with the U.S. government to deliver 100 million vaccine doses beginning this year, as well as a deal with the European Union to supply up to 300 million doses.

"Now a number of different companies are talking about the ability to make billions of doses. That's what we need. We don't need hundreds of millions for the rich countries," Fauci said.

"We need billions (of vaccine doses), so whether you live in the darkest part of the developing world, or if you live in London, you should have the same access."

If it was about Washington I'm sure it will be all kinds of fucked up. Like all restaurant employees will get a $1000 a week, but the restaurant owners will still have all their bills on the table with zero help. Then when they go under everyone will be like "They shouldn't have been in business anyways if they didn't have the money." And, of course, those employees will complain about not being able to find a job once this shit ends :shaking:

Will this be like the time my daughter and I got told to stop fishing due to social distancing when we were the only two people on the lake in our boat? :lmao:

My fiance and I were fishing our developments private lake during the fishing shutdown and a homeowner on the lake called us in to the WDFW:rolleyes: Yup we're spreading the rona out here on the water. Warden was cool, let us off and when I told him we'd be talking again soon he just laughed:lmao:

I have been steadly buying stuff on line, ordered 3 cases of quart and 1 pint jars at Walmart .com yesterday, all three freezers are full. Oh also bought some more 12 guage double ought.

Probably due to an aluminum can shortage. Local grocers were out of all Coors products including Keystone a month or so ago and many craft beers were low on stock as well. It's since rebounded, but all beer has gone up around $2/case here in the last 3 weeks.
 
I'm getting contradicting rhetoric here on Pirate and don't know what to think. Maybe you guys can help me. Are they:

A) going to make covid disappear with vaccines and different media coverage as soon as Biden gets elected since this was all a scam to make conservatives lose the election

or

B) About to become slaves to our government by giving up all of our personal freedoms for virus protection and we'll be wearing masks forever

Please help, I'm very confused. :confused:
