What's new

Must have M-18 tools

I’d get one if I didn’t already have one. :homer:
I have one that I bought after wearing Daddytall’s at Pikes Peak during testing. I Amazoned one on Monday for race week. :lmao:

Slightly burned the arm on a bike exhaust about 5 years ago

Just ordered one for Carol and hopefully the XLs come back in stock. I will order another. Those jackets are life changing if you hate the cold

Same, the new shorter one is awesome. :smokin:
model number?

I'm interested in an angrier drill than the "brushless" but not "fuel" one I've currently got
tried getting a hole hawg but I bought the stupid single-speed one that doesn't have any torque at all, luckily I was able to return it

Any deals on packout boxes? I kinda want to make one of those overlander camping boxes

Usually go on sale around Christmas, last year it was $100 off $300. If you’re looking for a specific one you might be best getting it when they have the standard specials 20 off 100 ect.

Almost all of the new ones have anti kickback so you don’t twist yourself into a pretzel. If your wanting just torque your might be best off with an old hole hog. What are you trying to do with it?

The m18 fuel drills did suck until the current generation. I smoked all my other ones, and the chucks did suck on the earlier ones.
One I got this summer still gets blazing hot.
Used it to drill maybe 8 3/8" holes in 1/4" mild steel and was burning my hands through gloves after the 3rd hole.

Chuck works ok, but so did the one on the 2012 version.

The anti twist sort of works but not to the point of being trustable.

I just drill with the clutch on the highest setting. No broken bits or twisted wrist.

I will concede that it does get too hot to hold sometimes

And now i own a m12 fuel multi tool because it was a free tool in a home depot deal. No idea what i will ever do with it…

They are great for a multitude of tasks that require precision but will cut pretty much anything with the right blade. I use it for cutting wood, drywall, nails and pvc for repairs regularly.

Im thinking metal blade and use it like a bodysaw

For sheet metal? It could work but I doubt it, doesn’t have enough throw in the blade I would guess to cut metal, only moves a 1/16 each way or so.

I know they are out, i meant more once they reach saturation of being the new stock and stores phase the old ones out. Seems to be happening based on some of the deals i have seen lately.

I got my heated jacket too, it showed up gray instead of black but meh.

From talking to the rep the forge can discharge faster but the tool has to be designed for it. They also can be charged faster but you need the special charger designed for it. I grabbed one when they came out and didn’t see any difference over a 6.0 or 12.0 for my usage. The only things I have that melt through batteries is table saw, circular saw and grinder and those will usually overheat the batteries before draining them.

With the good carbide tip blades, it will cut 1/8” stainless plate. Not a whole lot but it will cut the corner sections that a cutoff wheel will not reach. We cooked the tool doing it after the 3rd one but it got the job done. Wasn’t the fuel version either.

With a non Forge tool there's no benefit?

Dealing with Milwaukee is kind a PITA between Lowes getting rid of them, AK Home Depot being utter shit and not honoring sales or even wanting to see anything but the super common stuff.

Lately the tools have been failing left and right.
In the last year I've killed over $1000 of tools, some which I thought were about bulletproof.

If I was restarting my collection I'd highly considered not Milwaukee.

Just got my gen 2 stubby. It sure sounds and feels like it makes the 550 they claim just playing with it
Bought one Monday morning and ran it all week, better power and the grip is more comfortable. Glad they got rid of the dumb mode button too.

I did order the 5.0 batteries after watching torque test channels video, makes a bunch more power

Correct, well no real difference compared to a similar Ho battery. Probably still an upgrade over older batteries.

What did you kill? I thought you had posted about ten year old tools you used frequently gave up the ghost. In “heavy use” case can really only expect 5 years before the tool gets worn out.

Ryobi?

The 6.0 forge makes sense at its 12.0 output in a smaller form, not sure about the 12.0 forge, other than eliminating the cell balance and heat issues the current ones have. Unless they come out with more badass shit to take advantage. Time will tell i suppose.
