Not sure if this has been mentioned yet...but this band file fucking rocks. Had some real rusty bolts holding the exhaust together on my old Land Cruiser. The earth had reclaimed them to the point that the heads were just round nubs where a hex head used to be. I was able to get this band file in between the cats and flanges and buzz down the heads of the bolts until they were gone and disassemble the exhaust. I bought it last year on black friday, not sure of its usefulness. It just paid for itself 3x.

I just picked one up.

I had a corded HF one but I brought it into work and it got put in the tool room cause it was useful and I keep forgetting to grab it. :lmao:

I don't know if it's more cost effective or not but you can split regular belt sander belts into strips pretty easily.

After my mechanic spent far too much time trying to loosen the lugnuts on my 750...which was after he pissed away too much time trying to loosen lugnuts on one of my Isuzus...I bought one as well.

And no, they are not not cheap. But it solved our problems.

1" air guns are cheap. Need one? I've ended up with 3 or 4 of them.

Surge tanks help too. If you're feeding with a 1/4" line a 1" gun will barely spin. Feed into a 1 or 2 gallon tank with a 1/2" line coming off of it and you'll get a few seconds of strong ugga duggas before it goes to shit.
 
I know the Forge batteries have been brought up before, and I only remember hearing here that they are not much better.

well I bought the 12.0 and 8.0 forge deal posted, and I think they kick ass. very noticably better than HO batts. mostly notice with grinding and cutting metal with a circular saw. less bogging under load and battery fade with use.

I also got the deal. I used the 12.0 with the leaf blower on my driveway and after the battery was still fully charged:smokin:

Did a little test yesterday removing some tow hooks. The 6.0 Forge wouldn't break them loose with the 3/8" Fuel. Grabbed the 12.0 Forge just to see what it would do if anything and it popped them right out. Small sample but there is a difference.

6.0 forge vs 12.0 forge? Really? They advertise those batteries as having the same power, but obviously double the run time for the 12.0.

Not saying your experience didnt happen. It just seems like Milwaukee doesn't advertise the truth about their batteries

any battery with bigger capacity will resist fade better. I only have a 8 and a 12 forge, and starting fresh they both feel the same. I notice a difference between the 12 and 8 HO batts.

I don't think their is a problem with the advertising, as in theory the power is the same, but in reality the smaller battery will always have slight performance loss. and on top of that no two batteries are going to be the same. every cell varies slightly and the combination as well. so many things affect battery performance even beyond that too.
 
Also comparing new v old cells isn’t apples to apples. I bought a few kits this year and noticed the “new” 5.0s and 4.0s definitely had more power than the 3-8 year old batteries of the same ah.

I have two of the forges and didnt really notice a massive over the 12.0s, were able to stall the saws if you tried with both, forge definitely seemed a bit stronger but if I did a blind test I don’t think I would be able to tell. Still won’t stop my guys from running a 2.0 in something that needs a 6.0 or larger.

It could just as easily been 2 lights on the charge bar for the 6 and a full charge on the 12. Like I said, small sample, it was night and day different though.
