It's 50% off today. Should I pull the trigger?

Showing about $64 per battery at regular price (without trying to find a sale). $90 for a 2 pack on sale at northern tool or $60 for a 2 pack of knock offs on amazon. So let’s say $30 for the stapler (no one cares about a m12 only charger :flipoff2: Sounds like a good deal to me.

I bought one 5-6 years ago for firewood bundles.
Ended up getting an air stapler, the t50 didn't have enough ass.

But it works ok for plastic and stuff like that.

What are everyone's thoughts on the cheap knockoff Dewalt 60v batteries? I'm running the Dewalt 20" saw and would like to pick up another 60v battery but don't wanna spend the $$$ on the 'real' yellow batteries.

Every review of the knockoff batteries points out the unreliable quality and inherent (and high) risk of fire during charging on the knockoff batteries.

Edit: that's on all brands using some sort of lithium. You might get lucky and get the cheap one that lasts forever, but you're more likely to get the one that has faulty over-current protection and catches on fire.

^ 2nd that especially if you are patient and pick up deals from authorized vendors you will be in for real batteries for just a bit more than knock offs that aren’t anywhere close to oem.

Not sure if it’s 12v opposed to 18v but I tend to kill 12v batteries much more often than the 18s.

Anyone have the trimmer?

Picked one up to try, guys used it around our shop and they said it was amazing.

Took it out on a route today and the thing runs for 5-20 seconds, shuts down. Rinse, repeat.

Apparently it isn't just us, but anyone have a solution?

Or is this like their stupid sprayers that are flaming pieces of shit?

I have had mine for 6 years without a problem. Love the thing. May just be a bad one you got.

That was the first Milwaukee Cordless tool I bought new. It's been Flawless. I just do my yard so I've maybe got 10 hours on it, but its been all good. The Milwaukee trimmer line it came with is pretty good too. I bought more even though I have all kinds of other line.

Have the trimmer, mine works fine. What battery? Mine will work on the lower power batteries but definitely "prefers" the 6.0/12.0 high output batteries, and it will go through them pretty quickly. If a different battery doesn't address it, probably send it in for warranty if you just got it.

We tried 2 different 12 HOs. Not sure what was on it Friday.

Had the string trimmer for a few years, long enough to wear out the spool. Replaced the with an echo speed feed 400 from eBay and like that on there better.
No issues with the quick lock power head. Yet.

Well, after about 5 years of a pretty abusive life my M18 4.5" grinder dies yesterday.

I suspect it was the work on the retaining wall where it lived in brick dust continuously during the project that did the most harm. Those diamond discs and grinding wheels generate extreme dust.

Seized up solid, let it cool, will spin for a revolution or two, and kinda smells like burned brushes but Fuel Brushless so, .......

M18 Grinder with battery - $199

Could have picked up one in stock without battery for same price, and battery seems to run $50 - 75 ish so not unhappy, especially if this one last as long with as much abuse. Had to resort to the HF grinders yesterday and had forgotten how much it sucks dragging a cord around. :grinpimp:

Buy the Waitley branded ones if you go knock off. I’ve been using the 20v ones for years and have had zero issues.

I’ve been switching a lot of my stuff to m12 over the last year for the weight savings and also bought a couple m12 batteries from them and they’ve worked fine so far (about a year).

Kid let the smoke out of my Ryobi oscillating tool last week. Need it to finish a job so bought the m18 fuel brushlesss a few days ago.

Thing kicks the shit outtah the old Ryobi. much cleaner cuts, quieter and way less vibration through the handle.

Is it just me or anyone else see the 6" paddle switch grinder with a mid-torque impact is $229 on the same link above? They must be tripping over those mid-torque impacts at the warehouse to be offering them like that.

So on that note, I own both. Didn't start using the 6" grinder much until recently until I discovered that if you take the guard off it fits 7" sanding disk adapters and flap wheels. Been using the shit out of it since - only issue is that with the 7" flap disk or 6" wire wheel getting after things I can overheat 2-3 8.0/12.0s, but I with 3 I can basically just rotate them around.

Recently bought the 1/2" mid torque to have a less destructive and lighter option than the high torque, seems alright - has just as much if not more power than my 3ish year old Rigid impact.

My neighbor got one right when they switched from the fixed pole to the quick loc stuff. He has used it every year since then with no issues except wearing out the plastic on the bottom of the hub for the line spool trying to mow the rocks shorter. He has done the vacant lot above me which is 1/4 acre or so about 5 times. I look after it for the owner and my neighbor likes to earn some side money now and again. I've got the fixed pole version and have used it a fair bit with no issue.

Thanks, ordered some to see if they last longer. If not, then maybe the extra caps will help.

Nope, I get it too and took advantage of the deal.

Used the m18 circ saw yesterday. Borrowed from my neighbor as there are no tools at the cottage. Would buy!

Every year I spend 15-18 hours raking up crab apples from my yard. Looking at getting the Quick-lok rubber broom but also thinking the bristle broom might be better. Anyone have experience with these?

Not on apples, but from using the original rubber broom thing 20+ years ago, you'll want that.

I use the rubber paddle to get the gravel off my grass every spring. It works great, but it is a freakin workout.

I have not used the bristle broom yet

Even the m12 kicks the shit out of the Ryobi, lack of variable trigger is kind of annoying on m12 version, for starting cut anyway.
