What's new

Must have M-18 tools

We use several of the hedge trimmers and they work great. Generally in fairly confined areas, so no exhaust fumes are great. Plus, since a lot of the people using them are women, no gas, choke, flooding, not able to pull hard enough, etc make them very useful.

We still break out the air impact from time to time, although I ended up buying the 1" impact that solved most of those problems.

It really is good for a nice sunburn.

I can never seem to get a welding tan, just meth speckles from splattery flux core.

And I love my oscillating tool. Plunge cuts, undercutting door frames, back bevelling trim, drywall and lath/plaster demo...awesome tool.

I do wish milwaukee would make a cordless dust extracting drywall saw though. We've got makita ones at work that are great for occupied areas.

I still use air for the air hammer and the die grinder.
I have a few die grinders, but really the air one still seems to work the best and not have some cut out load limit when you lean into it.

The right angle m12 die grinder is pretty good, the straight one flat out sucks ass. That and the m12 fuel vacuum are the only 2 milwaukee tools i own that i hate. Well, that and the heat gun.

What dont you like about the FUEL vacuum? Are you talking about the packout vacuum?

I use the right angle die geindert more than the straight one but I like them both. But you gotta have the high output batteries in either one

The regular m12 fuel standalone vacuum. Its kinda ok for small spot cleanups but even with a 6.0 you arent vacuuming a car out. And it doesnt have a ton of suction. And it clogs if you look at it sideways because the hose goes into the vacuum at a 90 degree angle. I wish id gotten the m18. The m12 powered carpet attatchment for it is pretty slick though.

As far as the die grinders i dont have any ho batteries yet, i run the 6.0 on all my m12 stuff.

Yes i am a milwaukee whore. Owner at work has another business that sells milwaukee so i get a lot of it stupid cheap

Home depot has the m18 one 10$ off for 89 bare tool. Probably best youll do middle of summer

My m18 framing nailer took a dump again. Lost the nitrogen charge, same as before. Now it is past the 3 yr warranty.

I guess I gotta buy a new one.

Look on youtube there’s a guy that had the same problem and recharged the cylinder with an air compressor.

Fww unless you already have the sander as a separate transaction you can’t return it because it will be a unique sku to that kit vs 2 skus that ring up then gives you a discount.

I dont have a home depot close enough to return the extra tool, its like 45 minutes and i hate going anywhere, didnt know that.

Good deal on the stubby impact - even with the two batteries and the charger it is only $179 vs the normal $199 for the bare tool. I have been looking at these for a while as a supplement to my monster M18 impact. Originally I was thinking that I wanted to get the 3/8" version since I already had a 1/2" w/ the M18, but the only impact sockets I have are all 1/2". Any reason not to get the 1/2" version of the stubby? I can always use a 1/2 to 3/8 adapter if I needed to use a 3/8" socket, so not seeing any other downsides to choosing 1/2 over 3/8?

I prefer the 3/8” one. Smaller body sockets when you go below 5/8”. I hate adapters

I have the 3/8 stubby m12. It lives in an ammo can with 3 or 4 batteries, charger, and m12 3/8 ratchet. I like it because I'm not worried about splitting chrome sockets with it like I am with the m18 1/2". I have a 1/2" adapter in case I need to use it for my actual impact sockets, but I view it as a slightly more skookum disassembly tool than a normal hex drive impact. It's not gonna bust lugs loose 9n my f350, but it will make pulling a 22re apart go way faster.

Looking for a deal on the little m18 fan.

Also a new version of the m18 fan coming out that looks like a pretty big upgrade so they will be clearing out old stock or if you wait a few months for the new model.

Thanks guys! I may hold off until I see a deal on the 3/8" one.

At work we bought 30 of the 2904-20 for the auto stop function. While the function works great, the chucks are crap. Have had 10 chucks crap out in less than 6 months. Was really hoping this would be a reason to swap over to Milwaukee as we have a lot of their specialty tools, and they work great. But looks like we will be sticking with DeWalt for drills, impacts, etc. DeWalt just released their drill with auto stop and it is working just as good as the Milwaukee and they have yet to kill a chuck on one of them.

Been using the high torque M18 for years. I don't own "impact" sockets.
