What's new

Must have M-18 tools

One of the batteries was doing the charged 3 bar thing and I ran it to 0 on a fan iirc. I put it on my rapid charger and it went to 4 bars once.

Is it worth repairing 12.0's out of warranty? Pulled one off the shelf and it was down to one bar. Put it on the rapid charger and it says it was full, placed on a regular charger and it was the same. The 2 12.0's are my newest ones and have been down to 3 lights when full for the past year or so. My older 3.0 and 5.0 batteries are chugging along with 0 issues.

are the HO 3.0s really all that bad? IIRC they use the bigger size cells in them
Just went and looked, I've got a couple "cp2.0" batteries that usually live in my drill but they get thrown in the sawzall and grinder sometimes, they don't last long at all compared to the 5.0s I've also got, but they're all 3-4 years old.

your correct on the pricing. looking at cost per ah.

and the 3.0HO I think are better than the 5.0xc or whatever. at least in the bunch that I got. but know that the 3.0ho that I have are newer than any of the 5's I've got. in most cases I cant tell the difference, but when I plug them into my kids Stacyc (battery powered) bike. he likes the 3.0ho's more, edging out the 5 on performance, while the 5 does run a little longer. each of my kids has a bike, side by side I notice the 3.0ho takes the 5 from a stop. they go same speed on the top end... but that might be something to do more with the bike than battery? (I would hook the kids up with bigger batteries, but 5.0 is the biggest that fit)

the M18's also run those bikes better than the stock battery and better than DeWalt battery. i've only seen stock stacyc, DeWalt, and M18's used in the bikes.

I've been needing a portable vacuum for cleaning out the pellet grill. Sucks lugging the huge shop vac from the shop to the house.
Bought the 2gal $120 milwaukee 0880-20 today, works pretty damn good.

if you think that one is good, the back pack vac and they also have some bigger shop vac style ones that are easily double the power.

that back pack vac can drain a 12.0 battery pretty quick. I use it on level 1 most, to conserve battery, level 2 gets with it.

If you have a Milwaukee service center near you, take your battery there. “Usually” they will warranty them, if they are not way out of warranty. I want to say 3 or 5 years is the limit. It’s worth a shot.

Someone was asking about a deal on the inflator. This is probably the best you’ll come up with untill they upgrade or popularity slows

That was the lowest I remember it, last year at the start of the holidays.

I don’t remember the last time I used my Viair since getting the M18. Not dealing with the cord or hose for smaller stuff is so quick.

I only have a few corded tools left and the cords always are annoying.

This thing saved me a ton of effort.
1\2 band file. They say it's for removing spot welds but it sands hard wood just fine with a 50 grit belt
I've got both of them and finding more things they are good for is not a bad thing.

Half the reason I got a Milwaukee set in 2013 was the AIH salesmen said it was lifetime warrantied including the batteries.
Killed the drill this fall, brought it back to AIH and no lifetime warranty, allegedly never was a thing.
Haven't killed a battery yet other than a couple Chyna ones. Ended up throwing those all away, not worth the fire hazard.

I had to sand to fit a 3x29 inch hole in a 2 inch thick hardwood table top. 4 of them. I would have wore my arm out with a sanding block and not much else is gonna fit in a 3" wide slot.

Saw it and said it's a belt sander it'll do.

Now it just needs paint, but it has to be assembled for state inspection tomorrow.

I'm really hoping those arent the finished table legs?

They are.
I'm not the interior designer I just build what they want. They're not tippy. The angles are intentional.

Edit
They're vertical, just the camera making them look all wonky because they're angled in at the bottom
