And it didn't seem like they were purposely going out of their way to quarter-ass it and fail miserably over some simple stuff.
 
Motortrend pretty much sucks now. I see they got rid of the original Top Gear and Extreme 4x4 is now gone, too.

I must have paid for a year the last time, but there’s no way I’m wasting money on a renewal. Disappointing.
 
I'm trying to enjoy Roadworthy Rescues, but the "power barn" "lightning whirler" "fuel makin' happener" schtick got old quick. * year old looooooooses his mind over it :laughing: "Doesn't this guy know its a carburetor, even I know that!" :laughing:
 
Reupped on Amazon for a couple months.

Roadkill - "Oh look, we both flew out to road trip an old car and drive random places. Oh, we ran out of time for the episode, time to do burnouts and donuts on the dirt then fly back out"

I can't believe it's still going. Lot of early magic is gone. But they're gonna milk Roadkill Nights and the merch

EM - Nothing looked interesting.

Nothing else looked good.

RKG and faster without Finnegan is alright, but damn I aint paying to watch two shows that the content trickled out.

I work on cars all day and say that kind of shit just to confuse my service writer sometimes. I called spark plugs "lightning bolts" they other day and he had no fuckin idea what I meant.

extreme 4x4 was never on motortrend... it was a powernation show... ????
 
Speaking of off road shows. Was cruising aroung IG and Verne's opinion of MT is pretty raw. :laughing:
 
I canceled my subscription a few months ago. Don't miss it at all
 
I told Freiburger that they were taking the over-the-top reactions and stuff too far. It's like Dulcich was being told how to react.

He said what we're seeing are natural reactions.

They've jumped the shark.

Ya gotta wonder if the early episodes were like "fuggit still got my job at Hot Rod if this tanks"

Now this is his job and it's a whole brand.
 
Mine is the billed yearly a few months ago but I agree with everyone. For two shows a month maybe even 2 bucks a month it’s not worth it.

I couldn’t tell you the last ep of anything on mototrend that actually had me beyond passing interest.
 
I think MT is the best thing that ever happened to us gear heads . Since most everyone is streaming now I don’t mind it at all . However , they’re running out of content and placing more attention on their personal channels than their MT shows . The last episode of roadkill I watched was the most pathetic one I’ve watched in awhile with the rusted out mustang .

To the Dulcich comments , a lot of people love him for being a normal guy . But, the fame severely emphasized his goofiness and I truly believe that’s just Steve being Steve .

Sure as hell beats Foose, Rawlings and all those douche bags before them .

Interesting.

I'd like to see some view stats on all the different shows they have on there. I've literally never watched anything on there that wasn't a core show. I didn't watch them on TV either.

Ok, I've tried to watch VGG, and some of it was decent, but it all ended up being the same pretty quickly.

I don't know, but the Dulcich from two years ago isn't who we're seeing now. He was under a car flailing around with a cordless and it looked completely out of character/different/weird. Then they went to the dragstrip and Dulcich (who, let's face it, is no stranger to the dragstrip) is doing a lead-in to Freiburger making a pass then has this really animated "reaction" to Freiburger making a test/tune pass.

It's really fuckin' odd.

Then those clips now appear in the opening of the show. :homer:

I like having MT for race coverage, watching various car related shows, and stuff like that, but watching the core shows that I liked because they weren't churched up "go Hollywood" blows.

It's like Disney milking the fuck out of a franchise and alienating the fanbase that created and drove the success of the franchise.
 
ProjectTwin I will agree it has been over emphasized lately ! You can also tell when they’re cueing each other to do the over reaction lol

Still, I thoroughly enjoy the shows they put out and am thankful for it . If you forget how awful shows of the past were go watch an episode of monster garage or Pimp my ride lol

I checked and I'm still at $24/yr on my plan, renewed this past April, set to renew again in April '24. If that stays, I'll stay, if they 'fix the glitch' and it goes up to the new one, I'm out on principle.

I had my renewal come up the first week of august. I canceled it because I can’t watch most of the shows anymore. To me they’re to fake and over dramatic.
