This could be interesting, should definitely give Dave’s yt channel a bump in visibility.
Dave will be popping up on a handful of shows this year.

awesome

so did fred make someone mad? Doesnt seem like tat would be possible for him.
He seems like a really nice guy but maybe they figure his "I'm just an innocently goofy 12 year old trapped in an adult body" shtick is getting old?

Dave doesn't have a super outgoing personality with his dry humor but his skills outweigh that.

Finnegan finally announced publicly that he is not going to be on faster with Finnegan anymore. I heard about this months ago. His buddies are going to try to keep it going without him. A while back, they actually released a sticker with his name scratched off.

Not that I really care but what was the reasoning? Too busy? He only does roadkill and his YouTube show right?

I’ve officially quit watching MT. I check it every so often, scroll through new episodes, say, “Meh,” and go to something else. Such a disappointing channel anymore.

Agree. I don’t mind a couple of the shows, but all the newer series are horrible.

I had some shit typed but but I deleted it. Still holding out hope.

I saw lucky is building a new shop on YouTube, maybe he's on his way out too. If he leaves I guess that's the end.

In my friend circle it was already referred to as "Newburn's show" so that makes sense. Wonder if that's also related to him splitting from Finnegan's YT channel?

Well shit he's a pretty good fabricator, seems he was just being held back either by lack of wide experience or, more likely, Finnegan's penchants to fuck up everything he touches...

A few friends were talking, coming up with the best combo off of Mt and yt. My vote would be Dave Chapelle, 12 volt Dave, and Tony. Dulcich, Frieberger, and Vice Frip dude would be the honorable mention. I used to like Finnagan, but as his shows go on, it's surprising some of the basic skills and experience he doesn't have. He will talk all about doing something, then someone else will have to do it. That last FG episode on the drag boat(cool boat) was an editing disaster, it was obvious he was going for total run time. Frieberger is one of the best, but its obvious he's burnt out on the whole deal.

Frieburger and Dulcich are my favorite. They're both encyclopedias of knowledge and experience. I don't really care for Mopar hotrods but I can at least respect their expertise.

I really liked the lucky/TA duo. They were great comedy together. Lucky/Alex was a bit awkward, but coming along.

Frieburger and Dulcich... Man they have incredible knowledge (not fords), but they're both getting "too old for this shit". Hard to knock em for that though.

I dunno about Finnegan... Dudes more or less skating along on industry connections and "my good friend" this and "my good friend" that, and just throwing money at problems.

The rumor I always heard was it was a Faster with Cotton show, but they didn't know if an unknown Cotton would be able to support his own show, so in steps Finnegan to have that familiar name.

Meh, good for him, smoke em if you got em. If I was making fuck you money I'd do fuck you things with it like making my bullshit overly expensive projects get done in 6 months instead of 5 years.

I agree on general principle of enjoying watching people display knowledge and do shit. In his case, I don't think it's because he can't, it's because he can afford not to. Hard to fault a guy for that. If he can keep making the obviously ridiculous amount of money he's making doing things that way good for him. I just won't be following so closely.

Basically the only shows I'm even close to interested in are Roadkill Garage and Engine Masters. The amount of time between content releases for those two shows sucks though, so I'll probably be cancelling in the not too distant future.

Junkyard Digs on youtube seems to really have picked up a lot fo the market where RK and MT left off as far as I'm concerned. I like his style and willingness to explain stuff like how to work on drum brakes and carburetors in enough detail that it can make newbies feel confident instead of the mid-late roadkill approach of just dumping new parts into something if whacking it with a hammer doesn't magically fix it.

I definitely like some of Derek's stuff quite a bit but after awhile it seemed like he was going way too far out of his way to make sure every other word out of his mouth was one of those dorky portmanteaus of his. It was hilarious for awhile, but it got grating really fast for me.

I agree. At first, Ienjoyed Derek's humor, but it got old really quick when it started to sound forced instead of natural. I have no desire to watch his new show on MT, even though i used to watch alot of his YT content.

I thought the newest Faster with Finnegan Newbern & Cotton was pretty enjoyable. Actually kinda moreso than when Mike was on it. They had a cool idea and actually showed how it all got built and went together for the most part.

I'd never seen one of those mini sprint axles before, that's pretty neat how those work.
