See a few shows dropping in behemoth collosus 300s now! The packaging alone is amazing!

There's no excuse for taking someone's money and going bankrupt.
 
Platitudes and empty apologies are not putting a transfer case in my buggy that is currently limping along with a noisy, leaky case that needed to be replaced over a year ago. :mad3:

Jim Jackson was just very good at deflecting, always blaming the business partner(s). And it was three rounds of screwing people over. Once with Portal-Tech, once with Torq #1 and then again with Torq #2. Who knows where he is at with the next company he started? UTV bikini tops or something.

yeah talk is cheap. words, much less text, do not mean anything without follow through. hopefully those waiting get something through all of this.

time to move on. another 300 replace a case bites the dust. hopefully who is next to follow learns from these mistakes and history doesn't repeat itself... but it still might .

behemoth does look to be killing it these days. some new ideas and products as well. that's pretty cool, never saw that coming.

My point is that, just because he's a shitty business man, doesn't mean he's a bad guy. I could be wrong, but his post sounds authentic.

Like I said, I have no skin in the game, just outside looking in perspective.

What new products has behemoth released?

I’m not in a rush for anything so I’m waiting to see what that one guy in Oregon? Is going to release before I consider pulling the trigger on an empty case to swap my guts to.

Is 3D printed material strong enough to potentially be used for a case

I know very little about 3d printing, but based on hiw far its advanced in the last 10 years i would believe it will be possible sooner than later. I doubt they would make round bearing bores though so second and 3rd ops would likely be necessary.

I probably should had an asterisk of cost in there… I think there’s some pretty advanced 3D printing materials where I’m sure its possible now. But not to the average consumer.

Good point on the second and third ops.

Maybe that’s the future though, selling the print files for a case and you go produce it yourself. Doing that now with CNC is also probably technically possible, but I’d imagine if you showed up to some local shop with a file and asked them to machine you the case it would be cost prohibitive to do a one off

I work at a gear manufacturer, and we've looked into 3D printing a few times. They could not get the surface finish we needed and would have to machine them like you said. The material was also a good amount more expensive than just using forgings or round stock. maybe something the size of a transfer case would be different.

They do have metal 3D printers, but for the price those go for it is not worth it. Plus you would probably have to machine the case still for where the bearing will ride.
I saw someone mention earlier in the thread about making a case kit that welded together. Maybe someone can make some cut files for a plasma table, then instead of machining the entire piece of steel you had some machined collars you dropped into holes and welded, and some sort of jig to keep everything aligned that could be 3D printed.

Yeah, unfortunately program language is not all the same between machines
