I'm not sure that's accurate as my Citibank card fought Paypal on a similar fraudulent purchase and the chargeback went through in spite of Paypal trying a second time to remove it.
 
So for those coming in at the end of this.....midnight metal works went bankrupt and is no longer in business?
 
Correct... ish... took a bunch of monies, no product, monies spent on other of his start ups... ghosting ensued and then trying to sweep MMW bankruptcy/dissolution under rug real quick like.

My friend has one brand new never run. He was talking bout selling it till that guy listed his. I guess it's to be expected that every comment is negative.

I hope nobody is dumb enough to pay that kind of coin for a unit that might have problems and there’s no one around to be responsible for it.

My brother has a STAK 3 speed. It didn’t work, popped out of gear like they do. He got it cheap because of that and we have the resources to fix it. Works fine now but if he breaks a gear or something it’s garbage. If he junked it next trip out he wouldn’t be out an amount of money that would hurt.

I have a friend that has a junked MMW t-case. He hated it the whole time he had it , all the more when it ate itself. He just replaced it with a behemoth D300. I still think that’s an odd move for his needs when AA has the atlas for less money.

Any idea what happened? I have mmw Dana 300 waiting on an atlas to replace it but will reuse it in another project probably.

Maybe I need to read more but what are the issues that the MMW case cause? I thought the product was good they just couldn't deliver. I'll be honest and say that I was considering it. is the case you posted above that's all blown up the one that's posted for sale?

I just don’t think it was machined right. It always leaked and re sealing it didn’t fix leaks. At KOH it locked up. Not sure if because low oil, because it likes to spit the rear output seal out of the housing. It doesn’t look to me like it broke whole teeth off of gears, they look like filings now. The center gear cluster thrusted into the case halves is why Josh is giving up on it.

For $3,900 dollars? Why? I’ve got several friends with MMW cases. The portal crawler guys seem to be having good luck with theirs. 3000 pound cars with tiny 4 cylinders and 10:1 axle ratios.

Mine was a replace-a-case and luckily mines only leaking out the rear output seal. I’ll keep a better eye on oil level. Looks like that’s what killed it to me. But case half is salvageable with some machining I would think.

My reason for thinking about one is that I already have a BUILT Dana 300. 4:1, 32 spline outputs and I want to change to driver drop. This case gives me the option to assemble as drivers drop or passenger which I find very useful.

I know there is another option! Maybe a better option honestly! I'm not a huge fan of the shifters but doesn't seem to be an issue.

I always wished i'd have bought at STAK replace a case and this seems pretty close. 4 cyl, light weight (3,000ish lbs) 609, 39" buggy. So not portal light or reduction but close.

Edit: and the case posted for sale is $2k and within driving distance for me if not meet in Mason on a trip. That helps too. THOUGHT I NEED TO PRICE A NEW ONE I'm more posting to gain knowledge. #thisiswhyforumsarebetterthansocialmedia
