What's new

Matt's Off Road Recovery.

Just saying
Also when going to look for this example I noticed in their videos over the last year the bikini is missing... So maybe they figured out it wasn't a net positive move.

That's a dude with long hair and bolt ons. Nope
lol, from the thumbnail, I thought it was two dudes and one was wearing a USA bikini as some sort of joke. I do keep looking at the nice boobs though, which is better than not getting to see nice boobs, so I'm torn on the subject.

Like I said, they're boobs and the content for plasma cutting is good it's the mix I don't care for.

For those that like the quality of his videos, he has a production crew. When they were building the old man his quarters they showed the room
He has 2 or 3 full time editors. He said each one does one video a week - so if they're releasing an average of 3 videos a week, he probably has 3 editors.

Yeah, they all do...
I think it's more like 1/2 or so of the bigger channels that use editors. Pretty sure Matt Carriker (demo ranch) still edits his own stuff and he's releasing several videos a week on multiple channels.

You don't have to have a crew, but you have to be good to attract the masses.
I say it all the time, If I had the balls I would buy a bunch of cameras and record my day job with some off color commentary and pay some one to make me videos. But I have no balls...

It's kind of a combo of both. You can have shit content and really good post production and make it watchable and you can have some pretty interesting content that's horrible produced or edited and bomb.

I think a huge part of what make Whistlin' Diesel's vids so good is his editor in post production. The close zoom in and cuts when he says certain lines fully tie videos together. Someone else doing the exact same things he does but without the production value would probably be boring.

I love watching the hoonigan this vs that videos. Most of the time, I'm fairly certain the hooonigan editors are more entertaining than the people actually talking.

I didn't elaborate but I meant the channels of level of MORR do. Count the cams on a recovery, everyone plays camera man at some point not to mention the editing.

How many of us can afford to have "camera crew" with us?

Cleetus basically has a full time camera man (LS George) but seems to still edit videos himself which is impressive.

I think the MORR hack is to be mormon, have lots of kids, and have all your other mormon buddies have kids, and put them to work holding cameras. Also take your crusty old yard security guard with you to hold them camera when you first start out. :flipoff2:

It blows my mind how much content Vice Grip Garage releases. I know he mostly films himself, but I cant imagine he has time to edit it as well.

I think his wife does a lot of it as well and wouldn’t be surprised if one of his kids helps. Him and letsdig 18 put out the most content for being small one or two person shows.

Wonder when YouTubes will die?

There's some I watched years ago that became bascually a commercial operation or shills that I can't stand to look at now.

Have seen shows go from a guy in his garage to probably millionaire in just a couple years.

That one car garage ends up being a hundred or 3 acre compound with 10,000 sq ft shop and tooling and equipment that normally would only have in an industrial setting.
I mean who is buying $20k+ of air compressor for a home shop for example.
Abom79 is one that comes to mine. Has ended up with a complete seperate shop with I dunno, half a million? of given or highly discounted stuff yet is mostly making little trinkets and doodads that a guy with probably 5k of equipment could do.

What happens when that $20k a month or whatever it is goes poof? Or the companies of the shilled products want it all back? Not like a regular job is covering those sorts of bills.

Someone mentioned Matt Carriker. I haven't watched him since he stopped rescuing dogs, probably 3-4? years? now.

Cutting Edge Engineering's wife shoots all the video and is really good at getting really cool close in shots.
Trail Mater has a editor but all the video is shot by him and his guys.
I watch that one.
No blah blahing forever, just to the point, meaningful work, no shilling brain and dick pills, rocku ear plugs, tiger wars nintendo games, etc.
Topper Machine is another good one.

Oh, and anyone that treats a dog like Homeless (i think that's his name?) Is a winner in my book. Pups has it made!

Ever watch this guy? He's kinda all over the place but he gets some interesting carnage through his shop.

I laughed real hard when they got a video taken down for 'sexual content' and the comments section pretty much all agreed that is was Homeless' balls swinging in the breeze that did it :lmao::laughing:

Hooligan was pretty cool before Ken died and everyone quit. Now it's just a bunch of random dudes who pretend like they are the old crew and it pretty much sucks.

Anybody gonna post a link? I don’t watch YouTube but now I’m curious.
Saw her in person the first time I went to KoH since they were racing that year. Behind all the Youtube horseshit, he's a damn good driver and she truly is a stunningly hot woman in person. I could not give less of a shit about their content given the over reliance on whoring her out though.

Since this is now the Youtube chat thread, does anyone know what happened to Wrecked Gear? They suddenly stopped posting videos and sold the buggy. Curious if it was some kind of medical issue or something. At first I figured he was stepping up to a portal car, but I doubt it now that they haven't posted anything in several months. I enjoyed watching their videos, but the latest ones were starting to feel overdone and a bit commercialized. Ive wheeled a couple of times out at Sand Hollow with Forrest Wang who was on their channel a lot, and that guy is a fuckin' driver.
