Fasting - Who does it?

Kind of a sign that this thread came to the top, last Saturday I just happened to step on a scale and looked down and saw 297. Holy shit that's 30 lbs that have snuck up on me since calling snuff quits, and it's the heaviest I've ever been.

Monday I started 16/8 (with black coffee and water allowed during the fast) and limiting myself to 2000 cal/day and I've already dropped 7 pounds. No fried foods and limiting starches have already made a huge impact on my Tums consumption. We'll see if i can stick with it till I get to 240 again.

I fasted 6 to 7 days. Harder to continue on with the physical workload I do. Takes longer to recover from exhaustion

How regimented are you all? Are you staying within 30 minuets, an hour, 10 minuets, nearly to the minuet

I am varying from 15 to 17 hour fast, Monday - Friday. Weekends are free.

I guess I do the fasting, but not deliberate. Just get busy and realize it's bed time and haven't eaten yet. Or like today, realized it was a bit after lunch. Could have ate lunch, but whatever, I'll just wait.
I mostly eat when I'm hungry, not by a clock. Sometimes that's a meal in a day, or not even, other times it's 30lbs of food in a sitting :lmao:

I've done some intermittent fasting. But, it's been a long time since I've gone 24 hours without food. I did 21 hours yesterday and going for 36 today. A friend is guiding me as he has had some amazing success with staying very lean and maintaining a very healthy blood glucose level which I could stand to do.

I'm primarily interested in it for health benefits, weight control and getting rid of visceral fat.

Anybody doing it?
Ok; I'm onboard.

I'm going to do the 12pm/6pm meal fasting route.
Since I've done Atkins before, I'll do low carb meals.

Do it.

Just for motivation... I have fasted since 2013, before it was popular, I was following leangains. Varying levels of obsession, but now pretty casual.

2013: 275 lbs
2015: 185 lbs
2016-2020 185 slowly up to 210 lbs (work stress = new career)
Today: 185/190 lbs

I drink beer, eat ice cream, love carbs. 6'1" and stocky build. Always been overweight.

It works,.

April 2021 I was 261lbs
July 2022 I'm at 217lbs
I succeeded via my Ensure Plus diet; 4 Ensure Plus' and one regular meal keeping the overall cal-count to less than 3,000cal.

My target oldman/rest-of-my-life weight is 190/200lbs
I'm 6'1"/large (Polynesian) skeletal structure.

I discovered Dr. Berg's YT channel.
I like his routine/way of fasting.
IMHO; it's more in line with our (Homo sapiens) primal nature.

3 months in and I'm down 60 lbs. OMAD Keto every day of that. I also did an extended fast a couple weeks ago where I ate zero calories for 5 days and lost 15 lbs.
Damn; good job, dude!<--- lemon water:flipoff2:

That's a great job right there. How long do you plan to keep going?

Black coffee until dinner only here. Did it before, figured I'd give it a shot since I gained 40lb since late 2019. As before, I noticed better focus, even a bit more patience. Less tool throwing, etc. I always say "I'm going to eat everything that I want for dinner" and then eat a max of 1200 calories or so. My stomach shrank?

Forgot: 265 to 255 over a few weeks. No exercise in a while though. Going to fix that once I'm better settled in with a few things.

Sorta trying this out. Started out last week skipping breakfast to figure out how my body reacts. So far I feel a little more energetic and my belly seems to have flattened some. It wasn't huge to start with though.

Been weighing ~188 lately, hoping to stay the same or lose some as I'm working from home more and moving around less over the course of the day. Don't want to balloon into a slug.

Getting back into it after eating like garbage for 2 weeks. I got discouraged as it seems impossible to break 166lbs. I started at 199 so 166 is significant... but really wanted to see 155 before trying to pack on some muscle. Anyhow 168 this morning

I'm at 160, lard ass:flipoff2:.

I don't typically eat after 8pm then have lunch 7 hours after I wake up. Lunch is a mango some pickles and grapes.

How brutal was that? Did you prep for it? Just go on as normal for 5 days minus the food? Why only 5 days?
It wasn't bad at all - the first day was kinda hard, but the following days were easy. No hunger at all. I ate zero calories, drank water, iced tea, and black coffee. Also snuck in some Mio/water with electrolytes each day. On the 6th day I decided it was time to start eating something because I had a 3-day company party to go to, and I wanted to be ready to come out of it for that. Logic, not hunger, drove the end-date.

Im not eating after 5pm and take my first break at work at 10am.... so 17ish hrs. I was just doing some tuna and crackers (a small snack pack thing) but might change it up.

two things to keep in mind

If I tried it that way I would have to pack lunch and dinner most days because I am supposed to get off work between 3-4 pm but it usually ends up being after 5pm.

Actually fucking made it this week! Fastest M-W-F from the day before to next lunchtime 36-42hrs at a pop. Low carb and no beers either! Last night was rough, had a couple spoons of peanut butter to keep the demons at bay.

Pretty much same here.

Gawd dammit I've told you before 5-10":lmao:.
I'm almost rid of what's left of my gut, that is my goal to be rid of my gut. Then I'll try to maintain that weight, whatever it may be.
150... I weighed that too... in 6th grade.

Had a skin and bones,, 4ft something Chinaman VA doctor that was assholish about me losing weight. Apparently 70" and 210 is "morbidly obese".
He walked out of the room when I told him that was easy for him to say, my dick weighed more than him.

Man... Fuck you guys. I came back on here to try and fall back in love with wheeling and wrenching and now I gotta fix my fat gut too!?

Fasting worked really well for me in the past but then I got the sads during the covid years and food understood. I put back on more than I ever lost. I saw myself in a video the other day and I'm disgusted. I now have 3 wardrobes, skinny clothes, fat clothes and where I am now. I'll fast for a day now and relapse fucking hard. I'd make one dead heroine user with my swings in self control. What do you guys do to keep from falling off the wagon during stressful times?

Chewing gum and look at the big picture of falling backwards. I'm trying to get to a point, snacking and over eating put that point further away. I could have definitely been to that point already but I let myself fall backwards a bit.
On December 3 2020 I weighed 240lbs, I have that recorded. I was down to 200 in February of 2020, but then got Covid and quit loosing weight. I was 200~ in April 2022.

Went through the whole thread as my new job makes me fat. Skipping breakfast sounds easy enough. I’m already doing a 12 hour window but drink way too much coffee daily.

5’9 197lbs and I do not feel good. I was 165 in high school and felt great. I’d settle at 170-175 as I seem to carry weight well.

When I tell people what I weigh after they tell me they are 220-240lbs I always hear “no way you are that heavy”

And here I’m thinking… you are just lying to me and yourself you fat fuck 😆
