Not true. I have a coworker whose family all lives together on a large piece of property- He lives in a built out section of their barn, his parents in a large house, and his brother's family in an ADU type setup off the main house. His brother's family are hardcore anti-vaxxers. Not just COVID shots, but all vaccines.Fuck no it wasn't.
The wordt thing the hoax people claimed was to be left the fuck alone. High risk could always live however they wanted even surrounded by hoaxers
Anyway, during covid lockdowns, his brother's family decided the whole thing was a hoax. "It's just the flu" was their line. During the time they lived there, brother's family caught covid twice, but refused to test or anything like that. The first time they then gave it to my co-worker's parents(by way of visiting them in the main house, having dinners there, etc), who then gave it to my coworker. His dad had to be hospitalized as a result and that's how everyone learned it was covid. The second time, it wasn't as serious since it was a different variant that happened later on. At the point my co-worker saw what was going on and avoided them until everyone was well, but once again both his mom and dad caught it from his brother's family. Dad wasn't hospitalized this time, but was bedridden for a week. His mom ended up testing herself and his dad and yep, covid again.
It's one thing to claim its a hoax and keep to yourself. It's another to get sick, claim it's no big deal and them spread it around elderly and at-risk people.
