What's new

Did ya hear? Covid is over!

Dumb people are going to dumb. But now they can feel self righteous

Fauci already confirmed it's coming within the next year.

The people I see wearing them are mostly black people. I guess it's because the media lies that COVID disproportionately affected POCs really sunk in with them. Completely sucks given the governments track record of health related atrocities towards black people
Around here I notice a lot of Mexican and central American migrants still wearing masks. I think a lot of them got hit hard early on. Not sure if that's part of it, or a language barrier or what.

My favorite mask wearers around here are the people still rocking a mask, but down around their chin off their face at the store or at work. It's one thing if you still rock a mask, more power to you, but to have it on and have it down around your chin is just dumb. Right up there with the people solo masking in a car.

I took my kids to lego land last week. If you're truly scared of catching an airborne transmitted virus, that is not the place for you. Lots of waiting in lines indoors, kids running around everywhere with runny noses not covering coughs/sneezes, large amounts of people packed into small enclosed areas, tourists from other countries, etc. ...And yet, there were still some guests there in masks.

I'm not sure how they reconcile the fear that COVID is a threat vs justifying in their head that it's ok to go to a packed children's theme park during spring break.
I had similar thoughts right from the start, if you are/were truely feared for your life I sure as hell wouldn't go to the grocery store much less have the wife and kids in tow. I saw it over and over again. Stay home if you are afraid, get the groceries delivered to your car or home, don't drag the entire mask wearing family out in it! Rant off.....................LOL

They just want to be able to look at the rest of us in disgust. Its ridiculous. If they were actually that concerned they'd not be out doing things unnecessary for survival.

This is where not liking people in the first place comes in handy. If you don't want to be near me and think I'm some sort of a diseases freak because I'm maskless, let me get out of the way.

Cool starry bra time: lady double masked at the store, surgical with a n95 over it (may as well have nothing on at that point) during the delta "wave" was taking her mask down to eat grapes in the produce section of publix:lmao:

See? It's about appearance. Not fear.

I had a coworker who did that for months. Every day he wore a mask under his chin, all day. At night his wife and daughter would ask him if he wore his mask all day. He would tell them that yes, he wore it all day.

It's like train derailments. They have always happened but now we notice them. There has always been people wearing masks for as long as I can remember due to allergies or whatever, we just notice them now.
That is completely false down here. With the very rare exception of some normie cutting the grass or an Asian in an airport.

I still see masks once in a while. Mostly on uber and lift drivers. There is still that one person at the quickcheck that still wears double masks and gloves.

I have never seen anyone wearing a mask outside of a hospital pre-2020. Not even once.
I remember my great aunt wearing one during allergy season, N95. When we scooped grain bins we would as well. I remember Asians wearing masks before 2020. I am south of Kansas City about an hour. If you are saying surgical mask I fully concur

Oh just had a funeral today, but spent the week and a half prior in the hospital with my father-in-law on the vent from something not Covid related. Two of the local hospital system still require it even though it is not really enforced because I don’t comply, but I was pleasantly surprised to walk into St. Luke’s and not a single member of the staff or anybody that didn’t want to had a mask on, it was fucking awesome. I say awesome because my mom found out she had cancer in the middle of 2020. Then went through intensive care and then hospice during August and September 2020. That fucking sucked being forced to do it or getting kicked out by security while she was laying there dying and no family outside of my sister, dad and I could come and see her. Complete fucking bullshit. We did sneak all the grandkids in after visiting hours and the nurses didn’t report us so they could all come say goodbye. My hard ass notion in March 2020 that I would never wear a mask and never do what they told me went out the window when her diagnosis came down. Kind of over a barrel at that point
TLDR, fuck entities that force healthy people to wear an ineffective face diaper

as far as never working with people wearing masks before 20/20

I've worked in huge clean rooms where you are 99% covered.. at one they made me tear these booties we would wear over our shoes.. I think I was only like a size 15 back then.. and they special ordered bigger ones..

plus workin construction, many of the guys wore masks in the dust

I have COPD (smokers lung disease) so now when I wear masks, I have a real hard time breathing sometimes

Which is the norm. Somebody not at work with their face covered is the rare anomaly.
Rare, yes, but it did happen. In the winter I see old folks wearing them so the cold doesn’t irritate their asthma. And the same during allergy season. More in the cold though.

As an employee, I don't see how this wouldn't affect my job performance from that point on. And by job performance, I mean me actively trying to run that place in the ground and cause as much financial trauma as possible before getting fired.
I can't relate completely as my employer dropped masks after the airlines did but they took it a couple steps further which I still hold resentment for. They offered 2 days pto for anyone that uploaded their vax card and $1000 per employee for any facility that had a 75% vax rate or greater. There were numerous facilities that met that.

When I asked about natural immunity, how the cdc recommends that everyone wears one in high transmission areas (which we were), and how we were determining our policy in our advisory board meeting I was swiftly brought in before the vp of Cleveland operations. He was pissed, asked how I would run the business, and stated that if I didn't like it, I didn't have to be here. I told him I would treat everyone equally, and not discriminate against people for not participating in the experiment. He relayed that he felt sorry for anyone that could not inject the experiment for medical reasons, and that it is not discrimination because anyone can go get the shot.

I can say I got my free pto regardless...

I used to see Asians(people actually from the continent visiting) wearing them in airports while traveling from time to time.

My friend Melissa, who died of cystic fibrosis in 2018, wore an N95 depending on how strong the flu season was and other aspects of her health. It was rare enough that she would get weird looks wearing it in public, but not so rare that they didn't already make fashionable patterned n95 masks for immune compromised people like her. She was instructed to wear them by her doctor. When her health got worse they had her wear a respirator with 2091 filters.

Maybe it is just our perception of you leaning towards doing liberal things. Modern liberals tend to seek affirmation for their actions and approval before doing it. Not trying to take a dig at you. Just maybe a different perspective.
Fair point. An understandable association.

I just got out of the hospital lab where I had to wear a mask to get a Covid test before I can get my stress test tomorrow. :mad3:
