Debate prep

Taiwan is the only foreign war I can justify. The island is extremely unique in that it's the center of modern microchip design and production. Best case scenario if China went after it they set the world back decades technologically. It would take decades to recover the loss of the foundries and manufacturing there. Worst case scenario if they somehow took it and were able to operate the foundries and factories it would radically modernize their military.

Taiwan has seen the writing on the wall and started moving manufacturing overseas to the US, but they're probably 20-30 years from really securing manufacturing capability on the same scale as what they can do in Taiwan now. Allowing the Chinese to destroy the manufacturing base, let alone take it over, would be a complete disaster for the rest of the world and especially the West.

TSMC is building a $40b +/- fab some 5 miles from my house, and I put several million dollars of product into the project over the last couple years. I've been on site and it's a shit show, but they are projecting Q2 or Q3 of 2025 to begin producing 4nm product, and 2nm product via Fab2 by 2028. The guys that work there hate those Chinamen, and their disregard for safety, worker care, etc.. The standard response is, "That's how we do it in Taiwan". Shit, on one site visit I was advised to not touch anything metal, like handrails for stairs, because they had a floating ground they couldn't track down, and people were getting shocked.

Oh, and Pedo Joe gave them over $6b of my and yours money...this to one of the most profitable companies in the world, owned by one of the absolute richest men.

Klown world indeed.

We've always supposedly supported the "One China" policy that recognizes that Taiwan is part of the Chinese territory. But for a long time China just basically left them alone and let them govern themselves so they started developing tech infrastructure and a lot of Western tech companies decided to take advantage of this and offshore essentially all of their critical manufacturing. Years later, China is like "Hey, looky there! Part of our territory basically has a monopoly on the key to the most important technologies in the world. We might wanna start exerting our influence." And NOW we have a problem with it. The problem was outsourcing all of our critical manufacturing to the territory of a rival country.

:lmao:

Holy shit
Nothing dumber than a never trumper that supposedly cares about America. And I met plenty of dumb ass tea party never trumpers. Youve only recently changed your tune and said you will vote trump, so quit acting like people just cant figure you out now.

Has there ever been a more hated POTUS? Just curious. Obama? Reagan?

no, we just now have 50 different ways the media can tell you every minute that he is literally Hitler.

burnout has got to be real, soon. i think it maybe has.... you cant tell everyone all the time that he is awful without people going "let me see for myself" and finding out they are being lied to. its what the #walkaway stuff has been doing. and also why trump last time and this time will get the largest share of black votes since forever ago. black people get tired of being told what to think, hell, everyone does. But white karen women love it and eat it up. they dont really think

Rational people evolve their stances given more information. Sycophantic dick riders act like, well... you. :homer:

I gave up on the debate as soon as I saw the moderators attacking Trump.

Did Kamala ever mention a policy that would be good for average folks?
She did what all POTUS candidates I can remember did, make empty promises that will have to go through Congress and likely never happen.

It would also serve as a forward operating base for China in the Pacific region, allowing them to project more influence eastward. I don't know the answer to that question, as I don't know enough about the region.
It’s only 100 miles from mainland China.

The only specific policies I heard her mention were a couple of free money promises.

Yeah and even that plant is just to meet current demand, it's not a replacement for anything in Taiwan.

We solely recognize that policy purely for political reasons because it was necessary to secure trade relations with the CCP in the 70s. Taiwan understood that and has never raised a stink over it because we still do a ton of business with them, they're deeply involved with our military industrial complex, and we've acted as a buffer between them and the mainland. China knows this as well.

We also didn't exactly export this manufacturing, Taiwan is just where it happened to develop heavily because they heavily embraced capitalism when they were run out of the mainland. In fact that's one of the few things we haven't exported just because the trade secrets are still so closely guarded. You've got Intel a and Texas Instruments as the two most well known but out of the handful of microprocessor companies on the planet a significant number are here in the US.

For sure, same with the Intel expansion which is also huge. So much of this is being driven by server farms. They're doing it here because we have a nuke plant, and apparently enough water, although both of those things could disappear.

Taiwan, like mainland China is corrupt as fuck, and their labor costs are much less than here, and of course they don't have to build or operate to our safety standards. The production went there because it was cheaper, plain and simple.

THIS DUMBFUCK MADE A CLOSING STATEMENT AND DIDN'T MENTION FOOD PRICES, INFLATION, GAS PRICES A SINGLE FUCKING TIME!

Political malpractice and fucking dumb as fuck.

Im sorry but most people out there don't give a fuck about Russia, Ukraine, WW3, pipelines, etc. Many don't even know that shit is happening other than peripherally

Kamala will be the president if I had to bet my money on it.

Fucking idiot.
Well, I'm still voting for this "dumbfuck".

So nothing actually came out of her mouth that would have swayed independents, or left them with the feeling that she would be any different than Biden? I was thinking she had to really do that to move her needle any.

Trump had one advantage. He's a known quantity. Everyone remembers when he was President. I don't think a bad debate by Trump would have the negatives the Left would hope for. His personality is known.

Reading through this thread it sounds like Trump was Trump and Kamala is still Biden with tits and her past comments following her.

Would have been a genius move to break out that quote.

If it were a true popular vote election, we wouldn’t even be talking about it. Trump loses, zero question. The electoral college is his only chance of making it into office again.
Just like in 2016. Trump lost the popular vote.

I seriously doubt many have switched camps after the debate. They both mostly crowed about how awesome they were, and avoided the questions from the moderators at all costs. I'd like to see some congress type grilling to see both of them melt down.

Who are you voting for?

I don't think her past positions matter all that much because her primary campaign was such a disaster that it ended before most folks even started paying attention.

This is not really true. Yes, the chips are made there, but the large majority are designed elsewhere, mostly in the U.S.
