FOS
Great, a new one.

Same! The few times I sell shit, I price it to good to haggle over price. I don’t even respond to offers lower or what’s your bottom price. Fuck off. It’s priced to leave my place in the next day or two. I hate having to deal with shitbags trying to nickel and dime me.
Sold two new wilwood masters for $100 because I was sick of em sitting on my work bench and knew if I put them up on the shelves of forever collecting dust. I’d die with em. Guy bought em within an hour and knew he was getting a smoking deal. I felt good they would actually end up on someone’s buggy.
Congrats. You just negotiated with yourself.
No.This. I just tell people I'm not going to negotiate with myself. Or, "If no one gives me my asking price, I'm throwing it in the trash and no-one gets to have it."
One of the best buying strategies I've heard was from a buddy of mine years ago - get a cheap craigslist hooker to go with you and pretend to be your wife, show up and offer, "If you'll take half your asking price, I'll have my wife take you back behind your garage and blow you." Profit
I’m the same way, with the exception of my GX I bought. It was 5 hours away and I had set myself a firm budget, I talked to the seller on the phone for a while and ended the call with if you’ll take X I’ll make arrangements and drive down in a few days. He told me he had someone else that had already driven it and would give them a day to make a decision. The next day he called me back and told me we had a deal.maybe it is a generational thing
I don't talk price until I have:
1. seen the item
2. Can talk to the owner face to face
A select few of these brainiacs seem to think obo is an auction and $2250 is their opening bid. I’ve messaged more than one of these marketing phenoms with I’ll give you [ insert whatever ‘lowest I’ll take is $xxx.’ ]. And they go, thanks but I already have an offer of say $200 over lowest. And I say oh so it’s sold and they say no, I want more offers..Oh, Just remembered a couple of ads I've seen lately.
Hey everyone I am selling my XYZ car, it's in great shape and priced for a quick sale.
$3500 OBO but the least I'll take is $2250.
It makes me wonder if stupid people know they are stupid.
I am the same as you, Price firm and no trades. I get a message with an offer or a trade I just delete it, I don't even waste my time with a response. It's funny how angry some of them get when you mark the item as sold, sometimes I'll even do it just for fun.I do NOT enjoy the haggle. I don’t like people that aren’t my people. I rarely sell anything because I can’t stand communicating with annoying mouth breathers.
Today I have a whole bunch of brand new tires for sale priced way less than store price. Ad says no trades, no shipping. And I’m fielding a whole bunch of tool bags wanting them shipped or to know if I’ll take less. I think I’ve got em sold but I still don’t like it. Talking with 29 Dick bags to find the two humans that just want to come buy the shit is not a good trade off.
I've seen that too, it's hilariousA select few of these brainiacs seem to think obo is an auction and $2250 is their opening bid. Facebook is neat because that's the default message and gets sent in error oftenFB: "Is this still available?"
Me: "Sure is, come and get it."
FB: "Not interested!"
Sometimes they'll just give me a thumbs up after I say I still got it and then ghost.
okey dokey
Drive 100 miles and then 10 minutes test drive? Shit, I prefer to not bother with a test drive. If I buy it, just wasting my own gas

I total agree! I bought a truck bed full of stickies from a solid guy in Grand Junction. No I’m not going to talk him down. He had em priced at a reasonable price. Deal done. And met a new contact in the hobby.I do NOT enjoy the haggle. I don’t like people that aren’t my people. I rarely sell anything because I can’t stand communicating with annoying mouth breathers.

I've done it several times trying to share links, trying to go back, dealing with a TouchPad and a touchscreen all kinds of stuffHundreds of messages sent, and I've never done that in error (or on purpose).
I block anyone who sends that. It's easier in the long run.

I’ve had all kinds of experiences, but read through this looking (in particular) for 2BB’s insight. I’ve been on a run of (what should be simple deals with no follow through, bailing or the very seldom (I’m holding it for a guy).
I’m currently looking for a particular camper ($18-30k deal) and expect to drive 8+ hrs when I find one. I’m getting my shit together (cash in hand, tie-downs on the truck), and will most likely make an initial offer that I’m willing to drive for and back it up with a picture like 2bb described. If it’s not as advertised, I’ll walk or take a steep discount.

there's no sense of sending an obscure pic of dollar bills. Just communicate in a clear fashion you will pay in cash.
Or take pics of your truck, tire tread, gas gauge, and W2 to really drive the point home
Go ahead, be in that camp.
When i'm buying something high dollar and realize i will have competition that may even go higher than ask, i will do it/have done it.
I sent pics of monies to a guy selling a $34k motorhome because i wanted that one something fierce. 2 hrs later he drove over 110 miles from the high desert and delivered it to me.
