Buggy weights, what ya'll got?

We’re gonna need more info on this trailer!
Originally it was a 3.5k tow dolly I stretched to fit a rear engine XRRA buggy. The frame is 1"x1" x1/8 square tubing with 7/8" crusher shafting inside where it counts, 4"x4"x1/2" square tubing for main runner. Weigh's close to 850lbs. Has a tad bit of tongue weight when loaded but it has to follow.. I've used it pretty hard for 12 years and it's still hanging in there.

It's the 3500lbs 5 lug axle that gets me

Holy crap I remember riding in that thing with you and Ylee up at the ranch a looooong time ago. I was just a little towhead ass kid at the time. Small world :smokin: I forget how that whole thing came about but I remember my cousins Sean and Joe Don were showing me and their kids all the buggies and I got lucky enough to ride in yours for awhile
I remember that day! It's still common practice to give rides for the youngsters, friends and family. Buggy still going strong; over built and under powered, hence it's longevity.

Where the axle on the trailer is positioned, it is pretty much just seeing the weight that the rear axle of the buggy sees which he said was only 1,630 Lbs. He says the trailer itself weighs 850 Lbs., so that is only about 2,100 Lbs. on the trailer axle.

I remember my dad commenting on the ride home that he thought your setup in particular was killer with the Turnkey 4 banger, after listening to one of your friends say he used to have a 550hp 383, then took it out for reliability, he thought you really hit it on the head with a cheap 4 cylinder.

One of these days, I plan to take my yota up there to wheel it around with Sean, but I have a few things I want to do for safety before then
Such a cool area.

Thanks for the info and pictures. Really digging the fact that it has the Cherocar front end.

Still has the dash/firewall and VIN  This winters project is to shave weight.

I have a T5 to go in front of an AW4 or A340 for a light buggy setup too. Glad someone else did it first 😄 you running stand alone ECU or hacked Bosch setup?
