I’m not sure what costs more…. The Motec hardware or the software, expansions and time to pay someone to set it up! lol I think most people don’t understand what it takes to do one of these super high end jobs.Motec and lots more money.
nobody needed 800hp back then
John Webb almost lost his car and his life while he was sleeping in the trailer when something caught fire on the way to KOH 2024. I forget what happened. But he was able to cobble the car back together and still race KOH this year!!Dont end up like pjaf loosing his shit in a trailer fire.
That was a scary scenario and amazing story when all said and done.John Webb almost lost his car and his life while he was sleeping in the trailer when something caught fire on the way to KOH 2024. Facts.
I've only had one brave soul ask me for a quote. I told him to sit down before opening the email.
We went with Holley
Everyone’s a baller until it’s time to put the AMEX down!! Myself included too! lolALL THE TIME !!!!
(me included when I'm on the other hand)
mine are adjustable.....another rear 4 link i did it adjustable.....neither have even been moved. DId the math and made it level etc and sent it.One of the many things I regret and will probably change down the road is I did not make the rear upper links adjustable at the frame end. I was pretty confident that this was where it needed to be.
I guess time will tell. But I’m still gonna send it and see how it does. lol.
I went with a non traditional geometry and may it’s suck fat dicks maybe it’s awesome. Once it’s running and shocks are tuned. I’ll report back.
That’s awesome!! Thanks for sharing and the feedback!!I built a customer an LJ many years ago with very similar numbers F&R and that bitch handled awesome and climbed like a billy goat. You will be happy with those numbers.
This was started 10 years ago and I was building under the old assumption of people claiming 100% antisquat and wanted half of that to make it better at going fast and more neutral. That 4 link calculator assumes 100% rear drive bias, as in 2wd. When in 4wd, the rear anti-squat will be HALF of what the calculator is saying it is.
The newer versions of the calculator allow you to select the front bias %. Zero % front bias would be 2wd, 50% front bias would be 4wd, 100% front bias would be like when doing front digs. The newer calculators automatically adjust the rear numbers for the bias input for the front.
Maybe you already knew all this and wanted 27% AS when in 4wd. Just thought I'd point it out.
edit:
I'm also not sure what bias that 3 link calculator is assuming either. Maybe Treefrog can shed some light on the subject.
I do know the newer calculators do the front and rear at the same time and spit out a wealth of information.

I put the number in the calculated 2 years ago.
It would be interesting to plug the number in to the newer version. I just went off what I saw work and not work and used theory to come up with some rough numbers and also how it fit the frames and stuff.

To my knowledge all of the calculators that only look at one end use 100% bias.I'm also not sure what bias that 3 link calculator is assuming either
Looks pretty normal. Looks like it should be well behaved and preform like most U4 4500s. Please do report back on how it does.I went with a non traditional geometry and may it’s suck fat dicks maybe it’s awesome. Once it’s running and shocks are tuned. I’ll report back.
Yeah much more common these days.Looks pretty normal. Looks like it should be well behaved and preform like most U4 4500s. Please do report back on how it does.
10 years ago this may have a bit abnormal on pirate, but these days flatter links are the standard.

Exactly. Everyone was convinced of 100% anti squat was the only way for rock crawling etc.The Jimmy's 4x4 U4 cars and the stuff Joefab, Joe Thompson posted on the other site were all running flat link angles like that and were unique at the time. I messed around with the old calculator guessing numbers and angles based on the pictures of those cars I could find and came up with something I thought would work. Not going to lie, it was a total roll of the dice and I wasn't exactly sure what was going to happen with it but it ended up working out beyond my expectations. Nobody back then thought it was going to be a good crawler if it drove down the street good...
My dad bought my mom a LJ in 2004 for Mother’s Day. lol. A few years before he bought her a new 4x4 quad for the ranch. lol. It had 3k mile in 2008 and 10k miles in 2012 when we sold it after he passed in 2011. I had the option to buy that for $15k or a commuter Honda civic for $2k. I chose the civic to save money as I had started building the CJ6. Man was I fuck stupid it was so clean!!!It was low, especially for a full bodied rig on 42s back then. I'm at the drivers door and I'm 6'1. The owner was somewhere around 5'10 for reference....

I think Jeep should have only Built the LJ and stopped building the TJ!

Pretty sure I've wheeled with him at some point.
