What's new

“Brophy Jeep” Street Legal Ultra4 4500 class CJ6

So I did talk to him about this and it will be wired for both pedals but there is not a good way to auto change the circuits if a pedal fails.
Motec and lots more money.

lol everyone like myself is on the LS koolaid rabbit hole of spent a bunch of money on LS to find that now they need 490” 800+hp and they don’t want to cut their car up to fit the big block.
nobody needed 800hp back then

Probably going to run a full ECU master package
ADU7pro digital dash

ECU I’ll probably Run

I run 2 of these PMU16 in the drift car and have been really solid.

Never heard of it, is that China knockoff stuff?

The fact that they put USA at the end of the Chinese trying to be American sounding company name makes me think China.

ECU Master stuff are made in Poland.
I used the ECU Master Black on my 1JZ powered S14.

I’d love to run all Emtron stuff but I don’t need that caliber of equipment on the jeep.
Emtron which is Almost at the same level as Motec is made in Australia I’m running the KV8 in the drift car and it’s a bad motherfucker for the price.

The reason it has USA in the website because it’s the USA division. A lot of the ECU manufacturers have USA specific websites and divisions.

I'm not a fan of Holley either even though lots of people love that stuff. They sold out to China years ago.

As far as ECUmaster, it may be a decent brand but they picked the wrong name for their product.:lmao: It sounds like a spinoff of the Speedmaster line of high performance Chinese garbage parts that places like Summit and Jegs carry.

Nobody run Fuel Tech?

It’s an interest concept to do ecu inside the dash. I’m not sure what their software looks like. That’s really where the focus should be as if reliability and quality are somewhat close it’s the software that makes a huge difference. Some don’t allow enough customization or are not very intuitive and backwards.

Fuel Tech isn't targetted at trail applications very much.
It's all racecar shit.

Rockchump : Why going with the Autosport ADU ? For that build the regular version should be enough and save you some $

I build a lot of harnesses for Holley cause that's what's out there. Not my favorite by any means but they are cheap and do the job that a basic trail rig would need. My biggest gripe against it is the locked canbus and the lack of dual bank closed loop.

For the most part I think Motec, Emtron, ECU Masters, Haltec and the others will be fine. It just depends what level you are at!! I don’t care for link ECU.
When people ask me what ecu to use I ask them who is tuning their car and if they are planning on upgrades like turbos or other mods that require tuning or reconfiguring of logic. I ask them what their tuner recommendations are and pick from those. If someone only tunes with Holley or link or haltec giving them a Motec or Emtron is not going to net better results. You’re gonna pay for them to learn it. And there will be some potential problems associated with it.

I can definitely get away with the regular one. I like the better connector on the back. All the rest are going to be regular. And when it comes to water mud and dust they will all be susceptible to it. Everything except the rear PMU will be mounted high up in the dash/cowel so less venerable. Even the rear PMU would be nice to have with the better auto sport connector. That all.

So you can't run a race car on a Holley because it's trail car shit?
You absolutely can but you know as well as I do a lot of people racing on Holley probably are not paying it (sponsor) or the tuner recommending it is the dealer. I have a buddy with a twin turbo 4800 car making 900+hp on Holley. He just won at NorCal rock race in prairie city. You can race with nearly any of the current ECU but don’t think that they are all created equal. A Casio tells the same time as a Rolex and most people don’t need a Rolex. A Prius will get you around a track just fine but not as fast as a GT3 cup car. I did a pretty deep dive when I was doing research for my Nissan. Most people don’t need race car shit and or can’t afford it so they work with what they can. I even thought about the AEM stuff because they have a really good “racer program” pricing.

So I did a lot of research when I was doing the Nissan and two of my biggest stipulations was dual bank wide band O2 and the software had to be intuitive and able to configure future mods whether it was adding boost or PWM fans or fuel pumps or integration with body controls via CAN A and CAN B to the AIM dash or dual PMU 16 that control the chassis stuff. Had I been running a 1JZ or k24 that only needed single wide band it maybe have been a little different.

Im
A little offended that you’d think I’d use cheap Chinese electronics on this thing! lol :lmao::flipoff2:
Headers and exhaust parts….yeah I would. lol

You're a drift car guy, I would not be surprised if you did..... :flipoff2:
My enclosed trailer is a whole nother story. I have all sorts of Chinese Amazon special stuff like LED lights and switch and breaker panel. New trailer plug too. lol. Oh and Chinese diesel heater to keep it warm inside. But I will have both smoke and CO detectors in the trailer and adding more vents too.

Used 3 190Ah AGM batteries and can charge via solar or the tow rig or shore 110v
It will have flood lights around the bottom as docking light and reverse lights that are triggered off truck reverse or a switch in the box or inside the trailer. Porch light and work lights as well as wiring for the dometic fridge and. Inverter later.
Goal is to make this all work in this trailer then find a good used 24ft extra height trailer to get dialed for longer camping trips to the hammers or Moab or out of state wheeling trips. Kinda proof of concept. Half way done need to mount all the under glow flood lights and wire them in as well at the exterior work lights. Need to add the weather tight 50amp 110v shore power plug and solar plug too. Got 300amp solar panel that are portable so I can park the trailer in trees for shade and still charge.

Ready lift 5k bags with blue tooth control (installed After this picture) fleece lift pump, cat fuel filter ,S&b intake and smarty tuner. It’s a tractor and I love it.

Chinese battery charger starts a fire in the enclosed. Burns the racecar and the tow rig down.

Yup that’s why I didn’t use cheap Chinese chargers and stuff. Everything is sized properly too breakers, switches, plugs etc wire is next step up from required and calculated for amps and distances. Nothing has really any load maybe 15amps for the fridge that’s the max.

Randy from BomberFab was still running a factory ECU for the longest time.
You can do anything.
His cars are so basic that he really didn’t need anything else. There was maybe 6 switches in the car lol. I ran a Randy Red/Blue computer mount in my Nissan for a quick minute when it had an LS1 before I seized it up. Remember kids always check over your friends work!! A buddy installed the oil lines backwards cause the routing looked better!! Aim dash was not setup yet so scaling wasn’t right. I saw movement on the oil pressure circuit but it was off and I starved the motor on the first few startups. Got it fixed but damage was done and it rod knocked later on. :mad3:
