I think you might regret having all that shit hanging that far out the back and that low, especially with your "high clearance" spare mount post unless your tires are going to stick out further.

Put a fold up manlet step in the receiver hitch if you're too short to reach into the cooler.:flipoff2:
It’s not a traditional dedicated crawler like a lot of people are used to. There are compromises that must be made. It won’t do anyone thing great but it should do a lot of things pretty well.

How Justin hall Started vs how his car ended. I was chatting with him the other day and he said hanging the fuel cell
Off the back made a world of difference in stability in the desert, traction out of corners on short course and taming the snap back oversteer! All reasons I did all that. He has done pretty well
For himself in 4500 over the years and after the prairie city crash the car was retired and is now scrap. His engine is literally where his passenger seat should be. lol. I was not a fan of it but it was not illegal.

SLOWPOKE693 A few years back shit maybe 10 at this point. But Jesse Combs was racing a bomber at KOH. Edit(she was qualifying for starting position) I remember standing at the short course as she rolled it hard in the second corner. Now there can be and argument that she just shit the bed and didn’t take the corner correctly. But she took the spare off the bomber which it was tuned to always have on and that was part of the reason. I spoke with Randy directly about later and he kinda confirmed that she should not have taken The tire off as that 150lbs hanging off the back does make a difference in the Cars. Shifting the weigh bias rearward does hinder the cars ability to climb. But makes everything else way better. We found as we shifted sprung weight bias in the ProMod cars rearward we did not have to drive backwards down steeper drops as front dig and hid rear brakes was sufficient.
The truth is I’ll probably never take the spare tire off. Especially when at the hammers or driving through trails. The suspension will be tuned to have that weight hanging off the back. To be frank I won’t be competing in any trail breaker competitions in this rig. Only place I really see that spare would really suck is sand hollow, Moab or moon rocks.

Part of the rework of my car will be to hang a spare exactly like that. The cell has been moved back 2ft and a bunch more weight has been added to the rear.

I look forward to see if it helps handling as much as I think it does.

It will be a much different car. If your are looking for more balance and to be faster and more well mannered I think you’ll be happier.
Polarizing the weight will force the suspension to do its job more. Much like the old train of though for anti squat same is the belief that putting all the weight as close to the middle of the car was the best. Most arguments were more response turn in and less affect of fuel consumption through out a race. Both are valid points. But people didn’t understand that polar weight will reduce bucking in the whoops and slow the reaction of the car as it wants to return to straight.
I use the teeter totter visual. The closer the weight to the center the less force it takes to make it tip and faster it reacts. The further out the more difficult and slower it moves. Now if the axle is the force trying to move the teeter totter which should you prefer? lol. It’s similar to “Sprung vs Un Sprung weight” in relation to Motorsport discipline. Rock crawler vs desert truck.
Pendulum effect is another way I describe it too. Where the weight is dictates the speed at which it reacts.

It’s also like trailing arms. When you force the axle upward the trailing arm pivots around the fulcrum of the shock LS and cause a downward force on the frame pivot!! There are several reasons why you are not supposed to put the shock more than 50% up the link towards the frame. Similarly
Laying shock down too far. You get digression in the damper and spring rate causing undesirable suspension
Characteristics.

What’s the car look like now?

I mean that makes things easier I guess! lol
We can only do the best we can with the information we have at the time. Can’t wait to see the build. Drop a link here so I can follow it

Only thing slowing him down is pinion bearings.
I pitted for Randy Slawson in 2018 at remote pit 1 and that year he smoked his front diff by the time he mad it back through pit 1 the second time. He is hard on parts. The following year Saturday after the race I rod shotgun in his SXS Jesus Christ that was a ride!

I'd love to ride in any of the top tier drives rigs.

I took Randy Slawson for a ride in the drift car around his house and pissed off all
The neighbors! lol. We were doing about 120 down a back road and and I remembered I built it and slowed down for the corner! lol flicked it got I the hand brake and slide the corner! lol. Drove it right in the trailer and locked it it incase the cops were on the way!! lol

This is the dyno sheet of the motor that’s in the jeep when it was in the drift car. It nothing to brag about but man it was smooth and responsive!! It should be a lot of fun without breaking everything. I’m guessing 480hp before drivetrain taxes!! lol
SLOWPOKE693 you’re gonna love the license plate on this one! :flipoff2::lmao:

Dash mount is coming along. This is so there is a structure behind the das that the shifter and heavier electronics will be supported and not grenade the dash on the first whoop! Lol

I was cruising IG and cam across this Evan Weller Racing IGN coil relocation bracket that bolts to the LS3 intake. I wanted to build a bracket to support the air cleaner. This kills 2 birds with one stone. It will mount the coils high and out of heat and water. The air cleaner bracket will just mount off this.

I need deets on this, please. I need one of these for my Conquest.

Edit: I think I am also stealing that dash for the same Conquest.

I fawking love it: Mid Size Prizm Style Dash

EWR coil relocation brackets are in stock and ready to ship! This is the perfect solution to help reduce coil pack heat soaking on race cars and other applications. It also opens up the option to run an array of different spark plug wire orientations. Three of those spark plug wire paths are shown in photos here, but we also offer others to help suit your needs! This part is intended for a LS3 style intake manifold, but will work on the FAST 102 series intake manifolds with the addition of a .500 spacer on two of the legs. We also offer a bracket that fits the MSD Atomic intake manifold.

Shoot me an email to [email protected] for all purchasing inquiries! #EWRprep #LS3 #Trophytruck #SpecTT #6100racers #ultra4racing #kingofthehammers #prerunner
