Anyone use a Garden Tractor loader?

Ok I've had this stuck in my head. I think I ran a skid steer like this.

So you turn the key to the accessory position to run the glow plugs?

Is it spring loaded? Or will it stay set in the accessory position?

Spring loaded would be nice, no fear of burning up plugs and only use them when you need them.

Otherwise my plan was to run them every key cycle for simplicity. But it won't need glow plugs nearly that often. So I was going to add a temp switch and then we are back to being overly complicated.
That’s how my 1500 is. The key switch is spring loaded. Turn the key left, count to 8 one thousand, let go of the key it returns to the off position, turn it to the right and start it. Once it’s been started for the day you never glow plug it again.

Our Thomas skidsteer at work has the same style switch.
Left is heat, right is crank.

On my NH, you turn the key to on and push it in to light the plugs. It lights a glow plug light on the dash. You count maybe to ten and then turn the key to start.

That thing seems to run great. Fantastic deal.

This is how all my older shit is. My newer (2020) Deere is full auto and just does some magic while it's cranking. 🤷 My older 790 rarely needs the plugs, even at or around freezing which is about the coldest it ever gets here.

You could just as easily put a momentary button on the dash to power the plugs when you need them.

I could smell raw diesel while I was pulling the dash and started thinking I got a leaky injector or something. Nope, looks like a tank vent or something? Don't know yet, parts manual says it should have a 17" hose. So overflow?
One might be a vent.
Where is the return line from the engine?

You can get a switch that has a glow plug position. You could go OEM.

Or you could just put a push button on it for the glow plugs. Ignition switch would just turn on power for the alternator/gauges and crank the starter. If you use a push button, I’d probably use a relay for the glow plugs, but that’s just me. Less heavy unfused wires running around under the dash.

Return from injectors went to fuel filter/mechanical lift pump. Couldn't find any other ports.

I need to open the manual. I'm sure it's something stupid like that

Push button glow plugs worry me. I have grandkids I know will play on it.

Worried we will be riding around and they will be pushing it.

Maybe I worry too much.

But the spring loaded switch sounds easy since I gotta find something anyway.

Go fuck yourself.
I couldn’t give two fucks less about you hillbilly fucks and how smart you think you are. I’ve read the posts. A lot of you know a little about a few things, and a lot of nothing else. You wouldn’t know a great mechanic from terrible one.
Some of guys are fucking lame.
well then go fuck off somewhere else where they're worthy of your immensely vast knowledge. you arent wanted and won't be missed here... :flipoff:

Run\start is clock wise.
Glow plugs is counter clockwise. It is spring loaded momentary. Turn key counter clockwise, glow plug light comes on. Hold key until light goes out. Turn key clockwise to start.

At this point I’ll stay, just to piss you off.

Like while riding on your lap? Smack their little fingers and teach them not to be grabbing or touching controls. You let them play with the TV remote while you’re watching TV?

If you meant while they’re just sitting on it, wire the glow plugs through a relay. No power to the button unless the key is on.

It wouldn’t have a glow plug timer unless he puts one on it. No light to watch or have go off when they time out.

I really hope the crank will be ok, cant belived you tackled this project without at least a years salarys worth of tools
I can’t believe you’re so jealous that you keep bringing it up.

As discussed before, there's supposed to be a timed relay and you can use a Kubota one that's 30 dollars on Amazon.
That's literally how the unmolested purchased new 1220 sitting 50 yards from me right now works.

Could you please post your resume and detailed list and cost of all the tools you own so we can decide if you're a credible source of information or not?

Tiha, how fucking dare you!?! You went against the plowtards advice and started it anyway. Even though it seems good you have royally screwed up and will window your block, hydro pump, transmission and probably your butthole. The AlfredW of the plowtard world has $100k of tools. He is a Legend!!!!1 Why are you not buying all OEM parts and spending $10k on your $1,100 tractor. OEMs know best and when they don’t you best send it to the Legend. Tiha, get out of here with your nonsense. :flipoff2:

For the record I own $5s of dollars worth of tools. :homer:

Hey , why don't you write one of those deep psychological posts about why Generation X is better than Generation Z ???? This time you will even be right potentially about the poster you send this wisdom to.

Singular Plowtard in this case.

I think Tiha has done a great job by the way. It runs so that seems like a big win.

Besides it doesn't matter. It is clearly the wrong oem anyway. It will always be junk for it is not a IH product.

What no ether injection?

These people have several parts units

If you could score the operators station and wiring harness it would be mint again
Yeah I might call a few. I haven't ordered gauges or ignition yet.
Still kicking ideas around.

But I hate to run it much longer without a temp gauge.

I need to slap some type of rust treatment on there next while it is stripped I think.
