Those are all decent and will all hold, not Terrible.

Need one that runs off a half dozen Milwaukee batteries with a set of backpack straps. Throw that thing on with a set of short leads and it would be killer for tacking shit in awkward spots or when you don't need/have time to drag the mobile rig out

Hell that thing as is would be bitchin up on a man lift where you could just plug it in to the receptical in the basket vs dragging a lead up in the air.

I’m going with what is cheap chinkanese pot metal for $200 Alex :flipoff2:
I believe that it came with some stuff for stained glass windows.

I did grind the galvanized pipe off where the weld went.

Grinding off galvanizing? You should be welding for Chevron. :flipoff2:

This can not be stated enough going from a old hood to a new one is like going from a tube tv to 4k.
SO so much this. Just got a Miller Elite in the mail today and am blown away by the clarity and color. The headgear is ridiculously comfortable and the lock latch works.

My last autohood is/was a Speedglas 9000x circa 2003ish and as I aged i found myself reaching for a fixed large gold just for the light reflection/weld pool color with my readers on.

The two on the left are 106 amps 1/8” 6011.
I was playing with the new Colorado welder. I am never hauling that bobcat up and down the mountain again. This was on a 15 amp 115 circuit.
tighten your arc up
pretty sure you had lightening bolts going on with that spatter

Likely gonna be bending up some tube and welding it together for the new place.

Hopefully I can pull it off:lmao:

I had a bad one this afternoon. Building a bandsaw cart so it doesn’t really matter. I bought box tube that was 1/16” wall and didn’t dial my fluxcore settings in. #shame

Cummins beige made it better to hide where I burned through

A recent purchase to the tool line up… grinder has been sitting in my basement… it was buried inside a Jeep TJ with a mountain of other parts that I parted out last year. A Walter 5” wheel should remove the gross flux boogies without a hiccup. The grinder doesn’t look as big as it is… it’s a 15 amp unit. Hope it doesn’t pop my arc fault breaker outside 😂

Test weld on our old grouchy snapon mig that the boss is wanting to retire. Until he saw how much he would spend to replace it.

Biggest issue with it is its very inconsistent. Every trigger pull is different.

Probably moving a little fast, but not terrible.

Ive found that most "inconsistent " problems on well used machines is caused bt worn drive motors. Change those out and your usually gtg.

FM140A?

just fixed on one that would do the variable wire speed dance
the brushes were worn 1/8" down into the 5/8" diameter commutator
I don't know where to get commutators, so I just turned it on the lathe and stuck some new brushes in it
it is a crimped together disposable motor, but it was fucked, so it wasn't like I could fuck it any worse

Several years ago it was doing a similar thing because the plug was burnt up so it wasn't getting consistent power, it spent its life plugged into an adapter that drew off one leg of a 220V plug, to get the bigger breaker.

If the machine is inconsistent it’s hard to tell. Weld looks really good u til about 2/3 where it looks like everything got real fast.

i'm used to it being whip liners more than anything. i've got knurled drive role damn near worn smooth.
Similar here and to add some, most don't pay attention to how the whip is laying. Stretch it out, keep the tight bends out of it, and see if that changes how it feeds. Lots of folks wind them up too tight when they put them away and kink the liner right where it exists the strain relief at the machine.
