What's new

What did you do for your ford today?

start your own fuckin thread for this already :flipoff2:

37s? Will the tires rub the arms with those outriggers keeping the arms more out and more parallel? I had to bend my arms to make room for tires with arms under frame.
Running 40’s. Not sure about rubbing yet but it looks like it will be fine just eyeballing it. Yeah, probably time to start a build thread.

Grill guard removed.
Light bar removed.
Replaced Tremor valence with 2wd valence
Neighbor brought over a laptop and forscan… reset transmission adaptive learning, enabled “Bambi” mode, turned on gauge numbers, increased steering wheel heat from 80f to 90f.

Got the detroit installed for $300 including pinion seal replacement. Happy to have it installed. I'll have to see how much I like having it. Rainy all day today so I was scrubbing a tire almost every turn I took, regardless of being on or off the gas. Not much scrub on dry pavement though.

So had to take the bolts off the up pipe at the manifold to get them all tight at the collector. Now the question is should I leave the bolts at the manifold loose to give some wiggle room when I put the turbo in and then tighten them. Or tighten them first before turbo goes back in?

Finished ware pump yesterday. Filled with 5 gallons of distilled water. Drove it to TSC to get the correct coolant this afternoon… drained the water and refilled.

Debating dropping the pan and replacing the trans filter. But it only has 20k miles on it… all easy.

Then thought about replacing the PS filter and fluid,,,, but the reservoir is mounted in a “I’m going to spill this crap everywhere if I try to remove the filter” location. And has similar low miles on it

finally got around to buying the Calvan 38900. this past weekend had the pleasure of repairing the second spark plug blowout on the same cylinder. previously done with the Helicoil sav-a-thread. gotta love reaming, and tapping a hole over the fender of a lifted shitbox :shaking:
hopefully its the last time, for that hole anyway :lmao: I love my 2v 4.6, I swear.

Took off the bed and started getting it down to the frame rails so I can begin repairs.

Last owner was some flipper douche who had to sell at what was probably a loss or close to it (because we all know I don't pay market price for shit) because the frame was fucked, but not before he laid the paint on thick.

That's not as bad as I expected, spring hangers and crossmember look to be the worst of it
Those spring hangers are replacements. See the bolts instead of rivets.

It's really not too bad. Four spots in the driver's rail and two in the pass rail. The spots that don't have holes aren't substantially thinner than my rust free "reference frame" so I call that a win.
