What's new

What did you do for your ford today?

I put new shocks on the front of the dump truck today. They were MIA when I bought the truck.
Just in time to park it for winter.

picked up the new to me drop in bed liner and fiberglass camper shell topper missing some glass.

it is kind of ridiculous how excited I am about this, of course it's dark outside so I can't see it, and cold so I can't play with it.

spending money on a new distraction rather than finishing any of the current problems is far more entertaining. Used the trailer with the broken tongue and it held up just fine. still not willing to put much weight on it just yet, but it's better than nothing.

Pulled a small block ZF5 for my white bronco

Yall got any of them extra e4od pcm's and wiring harnesses/buttons and sensors?
Only the IDI has a standalone PCM.

Every junkyard has the button because they use the same lever and button from 92-04. And maybe beyond, IDK. I just know that those columns are mostly the same under the trim and that the lever is definitely the same.

Don't need a standalone if somebody is going to the zf pcm and harness.

See? I've got options for people  89-91.5 prefer, but doesn't hurt my feelings to go newer

Im not replacing my PCM, Im going to run it and see if it cares that the E4OD is missing. I might have a speed density 351/E4OD PCM in the garage though, ill check.

As far as columns, you can get spare parts out of F-series, E-series, Explorers & Expeditions, so theres lot of parts availability.

Nobody goes to the ZF ECU because the A/T ECUs DGAF if they don't see the transmission.

Yep im running the e4od ecu in my f250 with a ZF5 swap, no problems, but I do have the manual harness and computer I could swap, I have a few things not hooked up like the clutch safety switch and the reverse lights, need to trace the wires in the neutral safety switch to get the lights working.

For the bronco I already have a manual column, pedal assembly, crossmember, ect, I even have another ZF5 but the tail housing has a repair weld on the transmission mount I don’t like

Wide angle lens on the telephone makes everything look a bit wonky. Shell came off a 1995, it certainly fits the 1980 body lines better, but i'm probably going to rig it up for the 1978 anyways. I think it's totally a thing that should happen.

Not entirely sure what to do about the <1" gap from the gasket to the cab along the top

Should be fine going with a (much) longer rubber flap at the rear and some magnets? to close that up.

Really satisfies the old man tone, does need to be painted gray to tide the whole thing over until (if) the whole truck gets paint.
