Guy in the hat is Josh. Met him a few times. Wheeled with him once I think.

The Keievette build is my friend John, but yeah, that's my IH.

Isn't that Josh? Has that drifting Toyota truck deal? Was on NEWJO or NEOW or something?

That is Josh, yes.

We drove out to Vegas together for a buddy to race the mint 400 pulling his race car. He picked up that Hilux that trip.

I made the passenger stuff his fat head into my helmet. He wasn't going to wear one.

Was also who waived the EMTs over when he broke his back. Big dude. Had no business being in the passenger seat.

I remember that and us talking about it afterwards.

yea he was like 400lbs.

So all you fawkers side swiping my build thread. Josh built "Stomper" - John built the "Keivette" in the KEI truck build off.
They're both friends and both builds were "secret" for a while, which is why when Josh was doing my truck, he wouldn't let me in, since we're both friends with Giffin and I was a "spy".

Said Keivette.

Can we get back to my build now? :flipoff2:

We're still fixing doors that were already fixed.

Why do you think I posted about welding doors that were already done. :flipoff2:
Getting close to fab complete.
to make me realize if i ever achieve my dream of having time/energy to build one of these, it'll still be a POS compared to yours. Of course

since I assume this is going to be a year-round daily, what's your plan for rustproofing? Specifically the internal cavities of the sheetmetal that we know like to rot from the inside out? my "slather a shitload of rustoleum and spray and pray" method hasn't worked all that well in the past

Sorry, no that wasn't it :flipoff2:

This may not be a year round DD, not sure I can put my heart through that. I love the way this is coming out. I have a 2001 Dodge 2500 that we did, too. It does get used in the winter.

BUT

We have a few products that we use, namely weld through seam sealer, primer and paint . We also use things zinc based coatings where we're not welding.

We also do cavity plugs, once they're all built - drill a hole in said virgin sheet metal, fill the ever living shit out of the cavity with 3M wax coating, then NH Oil Undercoating under high PSI until it squirts out the seams/hole and then stick a plug in it. Bolt on fenders to cover said plug, as an example. Then detail the fuck out the paint

So that's the now sealed cowl area (we removed the vents), both rocker cavities, etc.

Don't know why,but the old Internationals remind me of some Russian rigs,

Whelp, back to the build thread.

Doors are on, waiting for parts like rear door trim and rivets for the windows.

We're also dinking around with the MRAP mirrors I want to run. Will cut and weld the arm to make it fit the door right. Then will go with powered/heated mirrors.

Nice, I like to old school mirror look personally.
I need big mirrors to be able to see behind the 45' goose neck.

These are not exactly old school though. I don't really like the old tripod ones. These have the look, but are one vibration resistant stainless loop, that is on spring loaded indexable brackets.

I do want them to be parallel to the doors though.

Yes the look is what I was meaning... Modern versions sound much better!

we're fab complete, time to get it running then blow it apart for paint.

I do think it comes down and runs 37's

more useable a little lower I'm guessing? since I think you said it's a gonna be a DD, gotta assume having to jump in and out would get old is the thought?

looks awesome. Still sparks my desire to find a 60's IH pickup, but i've got too much else going on now to do anything with it if I did

Yep. Granted the tires on it are heavy rated. I also think that 37's would fit the fenders better.

The other IH was on 35's and then 37's
