Oh, you're the motherfuckers that burn pallets in the desert. Tell me you picked up all the nails before you left.

These are July 2007, the oldest 4 wheeling pics I have. I should have left that truck alone.

I saw that picture and almost made the same comment  I don't understand why wheelers and OHV drivers would burn pallets, seems like they would understand why that is a bad idea

And why would wheelers litter as well? Most of them are idiots. Snowmobilers leaving beverage cans on the side of the trail, all of it :mad3:me. And if I ever see that little cuck with a white JK and CT plates OCD littering again, I won’t be as nice. :grinpimp:

Our camps are always cleaner than when we got there, along with the trail. We are always picking up other people's trash or telling them to pick up their trash if they are seen. Eat a bag of dicks

this is the "vintage wheeling pics" thread. absolutely, positively, zero possibility that this was from younger/dumber days when they didn't know any better. ;) :flipoff2:

Oldest personal one I have: Me and my 47 Willys truck in 1984 or so: Peak 10 , Breckenridge
back in Day 002.jpg
Same truck a couple years later: Above French Gulch near Breckenridge
back in Day 003.jpg
My 63 Chevy I got for 250 bucks around 1987: Some mine tailings above Breckenridge
back in Day 004.jpg

So you picked through the fire pit and got all those nails out, right?

Calling bullshit.

We bring roller magnets with us to Johnson valley. In the mornings I get up early have my coffee and roll the magnets around. You would be amazed at all the nails and metal bits I pick up.

You've seen the problem. Folks burn pallets in a fire ring, OK no idiot is going to drive through an old fire ring, but then some new folks come along and raid the abandoned fire ring rocks for their fire ring and blammo, nails ready to wreck havoc. We got to the point in JV that we would roll the area where we set up camp, but you can't do the whole damn lakebed. That's what I liked about wheeling at Area 52, nobody there buy my club or any guests we'd invite.

Lot's of great pics here. Most are back when I really enjoyed wheeling most ('00-'10). I'll have to look back at some of my old albums now. Side note - Goodyear needs to bring back the original MTR, those were sweet!

Nice. What I love is they're all(mostly) modest vehicles, built daily drivers on 33-35s tackling rocks.

Now its overlander faggotry or 40s.

Yeah I kind of miss those days. It was a lot cheaper too. I think I had more fun on my 81 Toyota on 31s or 85 SJ410 on 29s than my Big Gay Jeep on 40s now. Trails that were a fun challenge now are boring trails used to get to big stuff that we just smash on till we break big expensive parts on.

I kind of wish I could go back but all my friends have moved up to big rigs. I was one of the last holdouts with my Land Rover Discovery on 33s but I couldnt keep up with my friends. They all did the crazy trails and expected me to follow along. I always tried but I always ended up breaking then I would have a broke rover at camp all weekend while they wheeled.

Yep, I've had more fun wheeling my YJ on 35's I picked up in a trade last year than I've had in a long time. And I can still drive it to work or the grocery store without any worries. I might step up to a 36-37" tire at some point, but still gonna keep it easily driveable/enjoyable as I can though.

Who's parents didn't teach them not to litter?! My 3 year old knows you don't throw garbage on the ground.

And now that we are talking about the old style wheelers...hell yeah. I'm building a toyota for 33-35 tires, basically gonna be a flashback to the trucks that the "old" guys with real jobs built when I was in high school.
