Ultimate Adventure 2022

It was a right turn off of I40? I think.... no signs or anything just straight into the woods off the highway

Maybe it is me not paying enough attention in years past, but in one of Dave's videos I noticed the number of rigs on the trip this year. It looked like there had to be 30 vehicles. I have always knew the group was big, but has it always been that many people? It is no wonder why they can only hit 1-2 trails in a day. I guess all the hands might make repairs quicker.

Past few years there has been that many rigs. there was at least 25? this year, and to cover the ground we did in a group that size was actually pretty impressive

I have no doubt that they are working good to cover the ground they do, esp on road days. For years I have watched the videos and wondered why they didnt cover more trails, but the videos really only show a handful of rigs. We used to ride in groups of ~10, and that was hard enough. Cant imagine getting 25-30 rigs through some trails.

THE SPEED WE TRAVELED DIRT ROADS ON ROAD DAYS BEAT MY TRUCK UP MORE THAN THE ACTUAL WHEELING HAHA. BOTH WINDOWS CAME OFF TRACK, SHOCK FELL OFF, WINDSHEILD ALMOST FELL OUT, BUSTED A FEW OF MY LONE STAR BEERS IN THE COOLER.... STILL GREAT TIMES

If I'm not mistaken, the group used to be considerably bigger. There used be like 5-7 reader rigs.

But not near as many sponsor vehicles. I kind of lost some interest once they started having so many sponsor rigs especially when all they were was JKs built the same. Now it looks to be Gladiators and other JL JK trucks. There should be a limit of only 2 of the same model each year.

My favorite part of UA was the oddballs. They did have a few this year but most of the sponsors were in newer Jeeps.

+1
ALL DAY LONG ON THIS!

Second paragraph is why I kept watching...
Screw carbonCopy creditcard crap!

It used to be to make the dirty dozen it had to be weird. And the sponsor rigs were already unique.....now the JK/JL has taken the market and that's like all the sponors want ot build anymore...

I love ORD for brining the same trucks year after year. It proves to me the longevity of their parts and builds.

Watched the first two episodes with kiddo. We enjoyed it.

I'm not the best at maths, but I was there and counted the sponsor rigs at 11, of those rigs I counted 4 were Jeeps, of those 4, 2.75 of them were pretty cool. The other 7 sponsor rigs were all different, all pretty cool in their own way, and all there to party.

Cronies were in Jeeps for the most part, YJ-CJ-TJ-JL-2 JK trucks, but they mostly sponsor themselves.....

The rules of UA used to be you had to bring a new vehicle every year. The cronies and sponsors slowly stopped doing that. Hell even Fred has gone in the same vehicle a couple of times now.

Newbsock has been on more than one UA?

I don't have a problem with common rigs, but I totally agree that when it seemed like 2 of 3 rigs were just a 4 door JK or JL with all basically the same bolt on type parts, I started loosing interest.

The event can't exist without sponsorship, and sponsors need represent their customers. So I totally understand why many companies choose a JK/JL. I do also appreciate when companies do things to make them stand out a little, which is also good for marketing.

It was cool to see skyjacker move to that built early bronco and away from the giant pig JK they had with the hard top and giant roof rack, ect.

The 1st 4runner was another example of a common (well maybe not any more...) rig, but built in a bit different way. He seemed pretty limited by his stock cv's. Unfortunately rcv discontinued shafts for that generation.

I'm liking it. Formatted well. I tell yea, if I had the proper shop it'd almost get me an itch to find a one ton something.
