No judgement here. Especially not when you were wheeling a little over an hour away from the houseDon’t judge my lack of youtube skills lol
Thought you guys might like to see the sponsor video Motortrend put together for us.
They work good for me. Looking forward to getting back out to the Con' to try out the new versions I am running. How do the Milestars work here locally? Saw you at Rubicon in it on the 4th.
Short answer, no.I watched that this morning, are these builds that slapped together that they can't handle a day of road driving after hard wheeling?
I was going off Dave's comments about how rough road days are, I was like wtf that's evrey wheeling trip.Short answer, no.
Long answer, nope.

I think it comes down to a couple things. Road days are supposed to be an easy cruise.... no one thinks about breaking down on an easy day and may not prepare for it. That and some of the trucks being built for offroad more than the road, and not seeing many road miles despite years of service. Road days were the only thing that sorta stressed me out. I've built a bunch of stuff that goes off the road good, might handle well at highway speed for 50 miles, but building something to wheel, hold a weeks worth of crap, drive it 300+ miles in a day to wheel it again and repeat was new to me. Get 25 wheeling rigs together and hit the road..... someone is going down. I have always trailered my junk, so that takes 50% of the adventure out of my normal wheeling trips. The road days added an aspect that guys like me are not used to, but makes for a more memorable trip. Driving a 54 year old truck on 40(ish) tires down scenic roads and highways days away from home or your trailer is more fun than I ever could have imaginedI was going off Dave's comments about how rough road days are, I was like wtf that's evrey wheeling trip.

Oh dang I don't know if I should sell the old ones. I probably should as I'm starting to amass quite a collection of extra tire sets. Message me with an offer. Of the five old ones, four are black labels. 3 of 4 of the black labels have about 3000 miles on them, the fourth around 500. The spare street version is brand new aside from it being mounted/dismounted.Thanks for the info. I’m leaning that way. Old versions for sale?

Dumbass, go read my comment a few posts up and watch the video which drove that post.Did I miss something where they were falling apart?
Small issues like a tranny line leak or whatever seem to be common no matter the caliber of the build. Have you never had a mechanical issue before?

ian s tranny gave him grief in the black hills UA too if a recall. fucking sucks for sure..The only rig that didn't seem like it was road proven was Ian's Colorado. But a freak tranny shitting the bed can happen to anyone.
Yeah that probably wouldn't have happened if he didn't tow my obese Scout something like 8 miles up a trail while I was experiencing fuel issues.ian s tranny gave him grief in the black hills UA too if a recall. fucking sucks for sure..
He had issues with the LJ transmission on that UA and an overlandery trip with Busted Knuckle Films and now one this years UA with the Crawldorado too. String of bad luck with the magic box that is a transmission.ian s tranny gave him grief in the black hills UA too if a recall. fucking sucks for sure..
