TRUMP INDICTMENT

So how long will the jury be out? Assuming it comes back hung, how many will be the “not guilty” hold outs?

I also heard that they can vote to make it guilty of the misdemeanor. I don’t understand this because I heard that the statute of limitations is over on that.

whatever you think the law is, throw it out when it comes to scam trials and the judges that preside over it.

Secret Service met with Riker’s Island to prep for possible Trump jailing – report

May 29, 2024 | Chris Donaldson

The odds are so stacked against former President Donald J. Trump in the Stormy Daniels sham trial that the Secret Service is already making arrangements for his imprisonment.

According to a report from CBS News, representatives from the USSS have “met with local jail officials” to prepare for the possibility that rabidly partisan Judge Juan Merchan could order him to be locked up if the jury comes back with a conviction.

“It’s a possibility that officials in state and federal agencies have begun preparing for, according to a New York corrections source, who said the Secret Service has met with local jail officials,” the outlet reported.

The “local jail” for New York City is the notoriously violent Riker’s Island.

“As a former president, Trump is entitled to Secret Service protection for the rest of his life, wherever he happens to be. Behind bars, corrections officers would in turn be responsible for protecting those agents assigned to Trump,” according to CBS News which states that it’s “difficult to predict” what would happen after an unprecedented criminal conviction of a former U.S. president.

The report drew a reaction from users on X, formerly Twitter, with many predicting that if Trump is jailed, it would backfire bigly.

There is nothing that would set off a celebration among Democrats and their ilk more than throwing Trump into Riker’s Island. They have been clamoring for him to be tossed into such a hole ever since he suggested he would have had Hillary Clinton locked up during the 2016 debates.

Merchan, who could be immortalized forever as a resistance hero if he threw Trump into Riker’s, seems to be cracking under the pressure of such heavy expectations, losing his cool during Tuesday’s court proceedings when the presumptive GOP nominee’s lawyer told jurors to “not send someone to prison … based upon the words of Michael Cohen,” the Washingon Examiner reported.

“I think that saying that was outrageous,” Merchan told attorney Todd Blanche. “Someone who’s been a prosecutor as long as you have and a defense attorney as long as you have, you know that making a comment like that is highly inappropriate. It’s simply not allowed. Period.”

One former Manhattan prosecutor told CBS News that unlike in federal court where there is a waiting period for sentencing, state judges “have broad authority to determine when sentences are handed down after convictions and what exactly they will be.”

“It’s much more informally done in state court. I’ve had cases where the jury comes back and says, ‘guilty,’ and the judge thanks the jury, and excuses them, and says, ‘Let’s sentence the defendant right now,” Duncan Levin said. “Obviously, everything’s a little different about this case than the typical case.”

“He could be remanded on the spot,” he added.

So if I'm reading this right... 4-4-4

John is accused of murder
John is accused of stealing a cookie
John is accused of Speeding

4 people find him guilty of each thing, he's now guilty of murder?

What the fuck?

Who is policing this? Seriously, who is reading the rules? Or can the judge just make them up?

The fix is in.

So I was listening to NPR on the way in and they simplified the charges down to trump paid invoices that were marked for one thing (lawyer fees) while they were really meany for another thing (paying back coen for paying stormy daniels) in order to influence the election. Given those broad terms, would many other politicians be in trouble? First one I can think of is hillary and anybody involved with the steele dossier? Clinton for his past indiscretions?

When did the justice system become multiple choice. Whatever happened to specificity in reguards to charges? They know this is a sham. They know it will be overturned. They just want the conviction before the election.

It's really sad we have fallen so far

Honestly I am kind of interested in what the dems next plan is if he beats this.
Even if he doesn't beat it, he can still run for POTUS. IF they were able to get a conviction for the 1/6 riot, then there might be an enforceable exclusion. And I highly doubt even if he is convicted on the NY charges that he'll do time at Rikers, more like house arrest or maybe he'll have to pick up trash at the park.

Trump is facing felony charges in four cases, with verdicts that could come before the 2024 election.

While the Constitution does not specifically disqualify candidates for public office due to criminal records, some people have argued that Trump's actions are different because they violated a key part of a constitutional amendment.

Some courts and election officials have argued that Trump's actions before and on the day of the Capitol riot on Jan. 6, 2021 should deem him ineligible for office under Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which disqualifies people who “engaged in insurrection or rebellion” after taking an oath to support the Constitution.

how many millions has the government paid on on behalf of members for sexual harassments - or any other indiscretion? Isn't that, by this new definition, election influencing activity?

It will be interesting to hear what the jurors say when this is all over. I'm sure there will be book deals and interviews for the ones that want to do it.

Regardless of which side loses, they'll be crucified. I certainly wouldn't want my name attached to this verdict.
The sad part is that we have RUINED the "American Brand" over seas. Like us or hate us you could trust the system to be fair. We have ruined 200+ years of trust
