Back from the dead. I'm in talks with the owner of the aforementioned toyhauler thanks ridered3
After sitting down with the wife we lined some 1-5-10 year goals out and a steel building/barndo is in the 1-5 range for our growing family (have a toddler and one cooking now), we own the dually outright, and the Dune Sport should fit both rigs and be a much better built trailer to keep for more than 3 years.
After talking with a few friends who own newer toyhaulers (2020+) and my good friend who owns an RV lot it is confirmed that all the newer brands while extremely nice are not lasting, and value is dropping 50-60% in 3 years. So not only is a new trailer a bad investment for money, its going to suck my time which is something i cant afford.
The Peterbilt is still a dream i hope to realize soon, but for now that's another project, and realistically another 20-30k once i get a trailer/flatbed built.
So onto this house on wheels.
When i moved to my current place i loaded a 71 k10, the can-am, and the ramcharger on a 40' gooseneck. there was some space in front and behind the k10 (6-18" total), i could've sucked the x3 down a bit more and drove the ramcharger over it a few more inches BUT the ramcharger was hanging off the rear.
Working backwards the k10 is 15'8" bumper to bumper, meaning i fit the can-am and rig in 25'4"+the 18-24" of overhang. The trailer has 24' from wall to wall. Thinking of some sort of ramps for the rear of the x3 so i can drive the rig farther in.
I'd just pull the two together and measure a few different ways but i currently have the front axle down to spindles waiting on caliper brackets from BKO because i got sent the wrong ones.
